Chai Kowski has an Ukrainian ancestry hence his surname:  Tschaikowski. But he was born in Germany and producing music since 10-year-old. He has been  backpacking during two years. In that period had reserved a year to tour of the South America also Central America where he traveled to Bolivia, Peru, Colombia, Panama, Costa Rica & Nicaragua without time&plan&hurry. 
Since he's back in Germany he co-founded the https://soundcloud.com/conartism, a colletive  who come together to promote on a noncommercial level parties in the most craziest places under the open sky of Bremen, sometimes getting hunted from the police for it. It is a royal invitation to explore the urbanicity encompassed by music, where people can have fun, smile& experience unexploited sensations. Chai is also currently very excited about his first bookings for next summer festivals, gigs at Zurück Zu Den Wurzeln Festival and Zugvögel Festival.
This 29th edition was inspired by Chai's look-backing re-experience of his previous trip-trippy on South America. He remembered a lot of things which he almost had forgotten. He felt again the cold of the  Andes  biting his face in over 6000m &also heard the rain of the Amazon, recalled the dragging from Ayhuasca and  the blue&strong caribbean on his feet. Wir freuen uns, euch heute mit unserer Nummer 18 und unserem zweiten und letzten Teil unseres Afterhour Sound Specials, ein Set von Arkadiusz. präsentieren zu können. Da er schon seit langem zu unseren absoluten musikalischen Lieblingen gehört, sind wir besonders stolz ihn in unserer Reihe begrüßen zu dürfen.

Interview:

Wie und wann bist du zur Elektronischen Musik gekommen?	

Musik hat mich egtl. schon immer begleitet. So richtig geklickt hat es aber erst 2010 während  meines Lebens in Frankfurt am Main. Dort lernte ich durch meine beste Freundin den ehemaligen Plattenladen ‚Pro Vinyl‘ kennen, den ich fortan regelmäßig frequentierte. Duszan der Besitzer war ein Experte durch und durch und gab mir einen Einblick in die unterschiedlichen Genre elektronischer Musik.  Ich habe damals zwar noch nicht wirklich aufgelegt, aber mir bereits schon einige Platten, wenn auch LP’s zugelegt. 
Mein damaliger Liebingsclub, wenn auch in Offenbach liegend, war natürlich das ‚Robert Johnson‘, welches ich sehr oft besuchte. Das lag vor allem daran, dass ich von meiner Wohnung aus her dorthin laufen konnte. 
Mit dem Auflegen habe ich aber erst 2012 in Würzburg angefangen, wo ich studierte. 

Welche Musikalischen Momente sind dir besonders in Erinnerung geblieben?

Ich denke eines der schönsten musikalischen Momente habe ich vor ca. 5 Jahren auf der Nation erlebt. Sonntag, 12 Uhr und Mano Le Tough. An das Set und die permanente Gänsehaut erinnere ich mich noch heute. Witzige Randnotiz:
Da Mano bekanntlich sehr viel Wert auf Basslines legt, mussten während des Sets ständig die Boxen von Hand nachjustiert werden. Das hektische Treiben des Soundpersonals war irgendwie schon witzig.

Welche Gigs sind dir besonders in Erinnerung geblieben?

Im Grunde gibt es mehrere Gigs an die ich mich gerne erinnere. 2014 im Kosmonaut während der Open Air Togo Feier, als man die Luft sprichwörtlich schneiden konnte oder aber auch das wundervoll organisierte Brüxsel Jardin Open Air in Brüssel. Der Ort, die Anlage, die Menschen, da hat wirklich alles gepasst. 

Gibt es Zukunftspläne?

Auf meiner Agenda steht die Fertigstellung meines Live-Sets an, welches sich mittlerweile wie eine Never-Ending-Story  anfühlt. Ich hoffe wirklich dass sich dies in Deutschland ändern wird.

Our next podcast is a special live set by the Paris-based musicians Nato & Sahalé.
Individually, they bring us to worlds of ethnic vocals, percussions and wonderfully tantalizing melodies  - each in their own special way. For the 23rd Urban Cosmonaut Radio podcast, they have combined their powers in a timeless live set that takes listeners on a gentle journey through mysterious lands of the oriental past. 

Inspired by their travels and diverse musical influences, this set is the symbiosis of computer scientist Nato and sound craftsman Sahalé. Their productions take their time in building up, releasing in vast spheres of melody, haunting voices and tribal rhythms. We close our eyes, letting them guide us to distant moons in different galaxies, knowing that with Nato & Sahalé, a kind of delicate beauty will engulf us if we trust them enough to follow them on a trip through cosmic portals of endless, profound music.
