Mit Pauken & Trompeten  begrüßen wir diesen Monat DJ und Producerin Barbarella (@barbarella_dd) von ihrem gleichnamigen Label (@paukentrompeten).  Die Dresdnerin  verzaubert uns immer wieder mit ihrer schönen Musik und nimmt uns mit auf eine Reise auf ihrer Soundwolke. Enjoy!

~Zeit für ein schleichendes Frage & Antwort Spiel~

>>Wer bist du und woher kommst du?
Ich bin Barbarella aus Dresden. In meiner Freizeit lege ich auf und produziere Musik.

>>Wie kamst du zum Auflegen?
Durch meinen Freund, den ich schon länger beim Auflegen beobachtet hatte. Irgendwann wollte ich es dann auch mal versuchen. Die ganze Technik + sehr viel Musik auf meinem Rechner waren ja bereits vorhanden, also musste das Ganze nur noch ausprobiert werden.

>>Was gefällt dir besonders an "langsamer" Musik?
Also zuerst einmal: Ich mag auch schnelle Musik - ob mir ein Track gefällt, ist völlig unabhängig vom Tempo. An langsamer Musik mag ich aber besonders, dass sie so schön beruhigend und entschleunigend ist. Sie hat was Meditatives und liegt bpm-technisch nahe am Ruhepuls. Ich bin auch eher ein ruhiger und entspannter Mensch, von daher passt das gut zusammen.

>>Was hat dich für das Set inspiriert?
Der Titel der Podcastreihe. Ich wollte was Schleichendes machen, also gibt es einige ziemlich heruntergepitchte Tracks. Ansonsten ist - in typischer Barbarella-Manier - von allem etwas dabei.

>>Was ist dein aktueller Lieblingstrack oder Set?
Puh, das ist eine sehr schwierige Frage. Es gibt so viele gute Sachen. Aber wenn ich so direkt gefragt werde, entscheide ich mich für den Eröffnungstitel des Sets: Mme Chugarr And Chöko Aba - Distance. Ein ganz großartiger Track, der mir mit jedem Hören noch besser gefällt, obwohl ich ihn schon beim 1. Mal sensationell gut fand.

>>An welchen schönen/witzigen/traurigen Moment denkst du in Verbindung mit elektronischer Musik gerne zurück?
Da denke ich an etwas, was noch nicht so lange her ist, nämlich mein Set auf der Wilden Möhre vor ein paar Wochen. Dort habe ich den Track "Sunshine" von Überhaupt & Außerdem zum ersten Mal vor tanzendem Publikum gespielt, wovon ich schon sehr lange geträumt hatte. Dann war es endlich soweit, und auch noch auf einem so traumhaft schönen Floor bei strahlendem Sonnenschein. Das war definitiv ein Gänsehaut-Moment.

>>Was wünscht du dir in Zukunft fürs Nachtleben?
Ich wünsche mir etwas mehr Normalität und hoffe sehr, dass die kommende "dunkle" Jahreszeit nicht wieder so dunkel wird wie letztes Jahr. Ich hoffe, dass gute und vernünftige Konzepte gefunden werden, die Clubkultur auch im Winter ermöglichen.

Today we are very happy to present to you Dn.H. Starting at a very young age, Dn.H always loved listening to music and collecting his favourite tracks. This love to music and sharing it, brought him at a very young age to his favourite hobby, DJing. Over the many years, he learned to create enchanting atmospheres with his sets. But love to the music is not his only connection with CHAMELEONCAST. At the beginning of 2019 he played at our friend’s bar (Favela Bar) in Itacare, Brazil, which showed that CHAMELEONCAST not only is a simple online music podcast, but a worldwide connection of love for good vibes and fun.

Here in Brazil, 'Dia dos Namorados' — equivalent to 'Valentine's Day' on February 14th — is a 'commemorative' date on which the loving union between couples is celebrated, particularly on June 12th since 1948, but the motive is exclusively commercial. Thus, we adopted the month of June to release mixtapes that will distribute different interpretations and 'sound-link' related to the theme.

Love is essential to our well-being. Though love can be very confusing. What we call “love” and what another person calls “love” may be divergent. Closeness, romance, commitment, connectedness, sexual consummation, decision, bondedness, physical attraction. Hard task when trying to figure out how those aspects are inserted in our relationships. But we don't want answers, we only want to explore the emotions brought by music.

With the collected sounds, the New Zealander DJ delivers his interpretation, meeting a love in its sensitive and enigmatic intensity; in its enchanted, extraordinary and everyday power.
