Innovative, dubby and hypnotic mix from Ecuadorian producer and DJ Joaquín Cornejo. It's been years since he caught our ears' attention with "Túneles", a dark cumbia superhit we still play from time to time.

Now it's a pleasure to have him as our guest for a Caja Negra journey, where he takes us from exquisite ambient textures to sounds from polyrhythmic African music and modular techno with dubby feels.

Influenced by popular music from Latin America and inspired by spontaneity, asymmetry and intuition, his music indicates an organic sensation, both for its sound form and structure.

Joaquin Cornejo - Live mix from Refuge Worldwide

We’re excited to welcome @joaquincornejomusic to our sixth SoundSculptors episode. The Ecuadorean musician recorded a stunning improvised live set for us in collaboration with talented visual artist Wraura, who created a giant impressive painting during the span of the whole performance. They work in some kind of symbiosis while creating spontaneous and live, very fascinating.

More about Joaquín Cornejo

Joaquín Cornejo is a composer and music producer from Quito, Ecuador. Since 2018, he has established a proposal that interweaves different musical styles in a loose and playful manner. Inspired by the non-representational nature of sound and it’s relation to spirituality Joaquín explores everything from ambient to polyrhythmic electronic and acoustic music. His performances are characterized by improvisations with electronic instruments such as modular synthesizers and analog drum machines and occasional full-band format shows.

„Das Sisyphos ist ein richtig geiler Club zum Auflegen und ich hatte seit langer Zeit Lust darauf, dort zu spielen“, gibt @kidsimius offen zu. Er habe ein Set aufgenommen und ein Freund von ihm habe es weitergeleitet: „Und dann hatte ich die Anfrage zum Spielen bekommen.“ Er suche natürlich selber die Tracks aus und eine große Anzahl habe vor der Show schon festgestanden. „Dann habe ich nur noch geschaut, wie die Songs am besten harmonieren. Hallo liebe Menschen und willkommen Herbst!

Nun scheint es wirklich vorbei zu sein, mit dem fantastischen Sonnenüberschuss des Jahres 
- Zeit sich tapfer den kalten Jahreszeiten zu stellen.

Doch bevor es weitergeht, muss noch kurz ein besonderer Höhepunkt  im Oktober erwähnt werden. Es war der Betriebsausflug nach Hildesheim, wo das Servicepersonal von KuKbH verdient und ausschweifend den „Einjährigen“ mit der @alletanzen Bande zelebrieren durfte – es hieß wieder „We Love You“ und genialerweise handelte es sich dabei auch noch um einen @station-endlos-halle Showcase, mehr muss bzw. brauch und darf dazu nicht gesagt werden...

Jetzt kommt was neues aus Heinz zweiter Heimat Oldenburg. 
Die Planungen hierzu laufen schon wirklich sehr lange und wir sind froh Euch endlich diesen Podcast präsentieren zu dürfen. In Oldenburg gibt es eine Crew namens @elektronische-fusspflege kurz „EF“ . Sie stellen seit Jahren sensationelle Veranstaltungen auf die Beine. Sei es privat bei sich zu Hause oder in verschiedenen anderen Städten rund um Oldenburg. Mit ihrer eigenen „VOID“ Anlage und zauberhaften Dekorationen beschallen und schmücken sie oft die verschiedensten Dancefloors. Da es in dieser Crew wirklich viele tolle Musikanten gibt, wäre es total doof nur einen an die Regler zu lassen und einen Podcast für uns zu gestalten. Die Freude war riesig als wir hörten, dass sich vier von ihnen zusammen getan haben um einen laaaaaangen Mix für uns zu kreieren.  Und es gibt von uns auch noch extra „Fleißpunkte“ zu verteilen:
