Drifting - a movement with no certain direction… As a drifter you may move with ease and a calm mind, or you may find yourself on a mystical journey into the unknown, you’re never quite sure... These feelings of uncertainty have inspired our dear friend Kyle, aka @captures, when he began working on this EP three years ago. At that time his journeys had drawn him to Berlin where he found himself searching for a community to resonate with. With a bit of drifters fortune, we found each other here and there as the events and parties around Voodoohop and UCR brought him a sense of home: „Everyone seemed like wild characters in a play on some type of exotic underground that created a narrative free from boundaries. I loved the psychedelic atmosphere those days combined with electronic and world music sounds. Those experiences contributed a lot to this album and to who I am today.“

We’re pleased that our communities have provided inspiration that has led us to work with Captures on releasing this beautiful soundtrack. A soundtrack for all the drifters out there.

May this EP be seen as a dedication to not only the weightless feeling of floating but also to carry confidence and optimism on our paths to explore the great unknown. As Confucius said, „The journey is the destination“.

For some people, the talent of Colombian musician and multi-instrumentalist Jacobo Polanía is already well known. In recent years he has become one of the references of organic downtempo in his country and a prolific producer. In addition to his electronic facet, he divides his time between his parallel projects such as his own label Gusanito Discos, his solo project of songs and the duo Sara y Jacobo.

On this occasion, Jacobo invites us to 2 tracks where in the first one he introduces us to a luminous journey through a forest to the rhythm of a disco house where he sings as a mantra "let's go to the forest to walk" as an invitation to a search for something unknown or simply to disconnect. The second track, Delfin, takes on a cumbiero rhythm and features the special participation of Juan Orduz on sax. Now the ride moves to a Caribbean atmosphere, as if now we go to a paradisiacal island in the turquoise sea with a breeze that accompanies the ride.

About Überhaupt & Außerdem : 
It’s happening! AFTER ALL - who would have thought. The German producer duo ''Überhaupt & Außerdem“ release their EP on the 10th of October under the extraordinary label : @baikalnomads

Überhaupt & Außerdem, Philipp and Andreas, children of the German reunification, born on different sides of the Berlin Wall. Twins - 50% east, 50% west. They initially bumped heads in the city of Tübingen as band members and promoters in the creative scene. Soon, they joined their longtime shared passion for electronic music and DJing, which quickly morphed into first independent productions.

Their style has since developed by plunging deeper into production techniques, contemplating the essence of musicality through external critique and constructive feedback - so far by renowned Artists as Solee, Dominik Eulberg and Björn Torwellen, amongst others. During the time of lockdown of the Covid-19 pandemic they fully immersed into their creative work. The fruits of this time are now presented on the „After All“ EP which features the Canadian guitar prodigy Calum Graham and in addition comes with remixes by Deisen, Guy Maayan and Juliano Gomez.

Their sound might be perceived as downtempo with substantial attention to detail and complexity. It is sustained by an emotional touching spectrum of fluffy warmth to gloomy drive that never lacks attitude.

Later this year, you can expect more remixes, releases and podcasts among other content through Akasha MX and Katahaifisch.

We are delighted to share the first EP of Karbana (@user-765434859) with you. The peculiar duo dug deep in their trick boxes and created two unique masterpieces.
