Sometimes, the World Wide Web is beautiful, isn’t it? Today’s premiere is a good example: The Ukrainian label POVILNO, for its forthcoming release, opened the doors for another parcel of the fruitful partnership between Barcelona-based Mexican virtuoso Ludviq (SXDNS413) and Vienna’s superstar Nick Hanzo (SXDNS065). Something that would not be possible without the miracle of the doomed but still useful Internet.

According to the history books, everything started in 2021 when Nick revisioned Ludviq’s “Saltu Capsicum” for his first EP on NEIN Records. Since then, their paths have already crossed each other a few other times resulting in well-received remixes or collaborations published either on their very own imprints (Hanzo’s Belly Dance Services and Ludviq’s Bonkers) or other platforms such as Melomana and Quixotical.

For their debut on POVILNO, the lads came up with a couple of “thought-bending and dance-floor-ready originals” and invited none other than Lebollet (RASTROLIVE004) and Leonor (SXDNS034) for the remix duties.

Premiered here, "Ace of Pentacles" develops its magic by showing off an imperative bassline topped with a complex concoction of percussive elements and sharp FX shots. The oscillating synth layer triggers a mesmerising break during the drop just to be abruptly interrupted when all the hysteria of the aforementioned mixture starts over. That’s the title track, a “catchy exploration through deep basslines, intricate rhythms, and cosmic syncopation.”

 I kind of forgot to post this ‘little’ episode of The Darker Side of Disco, since I was busy packing for my family trip (we’re traveling around Asia for 2.5 months). I was actually debating whether to post it at all, since this was meant to be my annual ‘year mix’ for 2024—and, well, we’re already in February.

 But hey, it’s over 6 hours of quality tunes that I vibed with the most over the past year, and I love having them all compiled into one smooth mix to archive those bangers. Even if it only hits the right note with one or two of you, I’ll be more than happy.

Chachxii is the project of Tbilisi based DJ Irakli Chachkhiani who stepped into Georgian Electronic music scene in 2023. The inspiration of creating electronic music comes after many years of listening some local and foreign artists of the electronic music scene. Artist's works is mix and fusion of variety of genres, mostly progressive house and trance, electro. It also contains elements of dark disco, indie and darkwave. Phred is La dame Noir (Bar, Club, Label) co-founder, art director & DJ based in Marseille, South of France. Phred Noir has been producing tracks with Amevicious under “La dame Noir” name for different labels (Meant, Factor City, Blindetonation, LdN Rds ...). He is also been releasing records on “My Favorite Robot Rds” as Slow Porn alongside Remain from Meant Records. 

From Balearic Disco to Slow Techno via Dark Disco, from the seaside to the latest dance floor, Phred Noir likes to play between 100 & 120 BPM and feel even better right in the middle. From the slower BPM till his own 12 3bpm limit, this DJ likes to start the night and build up the tension to the end. 
Phred Noir has been DJing since 1995, and he started La dame Noir project in 2009. This LdN projects allowed him to witness how Nu-Disco evolved and how the french Techno scene came to slow down its own tempo, a fact that made those 2 music collide to give this new Dark Disco vibe. A sound represented today by labels like
