Dina Summer (@dinasummer), the Berlin-based collaboration between Kalipo (@kalipo-1) and DJ couple Local Suicide (@localsuicide), are back with ‘Revenge’, the second single taken from their upcoming debut album, ‘Rimini’. The track perfectly showcases the group’s retro disco influences and feels like a journey through time. It is a fun, groovy and melodic track with washed-out synth chords, bouncy bass lines, and staccato stabs that is perfect for any listening experience.
The project is fronted by Dina P, the Greek native who lends her vocals and thought-provoking lyricism to the act. She first started performing as a teenager on local radio stations, making waves as one of the first women DJs in Thessaloniki, before later moving to Berlin where she met her husband and DJ/Producer partner, Brax Moody, to form Local Suicide. Bavarian-born Kalipo is the third member of the group who started his music career as the producer and band member of the German electro-punk band Frittenbude. While the trio initially met at a rave at the Rock am Ring festival in 2013, they only began working on music together in 2019 and have since been refining their combined sound.

Their new 4-track ‘Revenge’ EP includes a radio edit and an extended album version with upbeat synth lines and warm summery grooves. The release also includes a darker, gritty saw edit with a driving saw bass and arpeggios and a stripped-back, pulsing dark disco edit with washed guitars and plucks. All the different interpretations of the track reflect the group’s varied influences ranging from 80’s disco, 90’s electro, new wave and downbeat.

Releasing via Audiolith (@audiolith) on the 6th of July, 2022, the ‘Revenge’ EP continues the nostalgic journey through retro disco sonics that is perfect for the vibrant summer season!

Calm and calculated start, if we compare it to the original, the entity and the amount of softness of the song is almost the same, but with the addition of vocals, I'd say it is even more gentle and refined. The major change and the bait of this version is the provocative and seductive voice. It practically begs you to give in and savor the moment on the grounds that there might never be another one like this.

The two friends, Bruce the bat person and Vector Malevolent, combine their talents to deliver an explosive EP released on the Epicure Records label on March 27th.

At the heart of this EP lies the original track "Mé en Té", a bold creation that defies the conventions of cosmic dark disco, inviting both dance and introspective journeys.

"Mé en Té" is much more than just a musical track; it's a sensory experience where every note, every beat, transports the listener into a fascinating parallel universe. The composition is filled with surprises, including the unexpected arrival of a trumpet solo that enriches the sonic texture and adds palpable warmth to the whole.

Alemao, with his cosmic and euphoric vision, chooses to remove the trumpet to create an even more immersive atmosphere.

Cosmosolar, on the other hand, opts for an ultra-club remix, skillfully blending hypnotic acid sounds for an unforgettable dance experience.

F.U.R.O. takes us on an epic journey, slower but equally captivating, evoking almost the epic battles of Final Fantasy game. 

Giorgio Isaev, meanwhile, offers a dark and rave remix, evoking the feverish atmosphere of Berlin warehouses in the early hours.

Finally, Nick Hanzo closes the show with his signature rhythmic and transporting beats, adding an extra dose of raw energy and irresistible groove to this already impressive collection.

PREMIERE: Bruce The Bat Person & Vector Malevolent - Mé En Té (Alemao's No Sax In The Batcave Remix)

After an impressive string of releases on Sinchi, NEIN, Mélopée, Weirdos among others, Munich-based vagabond Alemao drops his luggage for the first time on HIFI/LOFI, with an EP highlighting the variety of his skills and influences, ranging between psychedelic and heady Deep Indie Dance to overdriven Techno-Disco synth escapades, and beautifully closed by a remix from the master of cosmic explorations, el grande Rigopolar.

Having lived in Berlin, Paris, Hamburg & Barcelona among other cities, Alemao has been soaking up music in Europe’s most renowned house & techno clubs for more than a decade. He started gracing the face of the world with vibrating air molecules in Dublin in 2016 where he has not only earned his nickname ‘Alemao’ but also played regularly at Pygmalion, sharing bills with the likes of Âme, Jennifer Cardini or The Drifter.

Written & produced shortly after his daughter saw the light of day, the collection of tunes opens with Akyre, where Alemao takes us in a rather dark and stomping Italo territory, accompanied by a haunting voice (which is actually one of the most used vocal samples in history, but we’ll leave the mystery hanging there). 

On Spatzi, Alemao unfolds a headier side of his sound, where dizzying synth sequences flirt with overdriven guitar-like synths, before closing the round of originals with the eponymous ‘Paranoid Disco Dub’ - as the name suggests, a more experimental cut with references to Deep Dub-Techno & Psychedelia, where one could easily get lost dancing together with his own mind in the deep shadows of a dark and sweaty club.

Last but not least, Rigopolar also makes his first appearance on HIFI/LOFI by delivering a sublime and very filmic revision of Akyre, which makes us want to ask the universe if we could please have a combined sequel of Drive and Stranger Things coming out soon itohave his remix landing on the ending credits, someone please make it happen.

After the success of his collaborative EP with Rems Martinez, Alemao returns to Espacio Cielo with Structural Dynamics of Flow, a powerful release that showcases both his technical prowess and artistic growth. This EP is a deep dive into the world of dark disco, blending hypnotic beats with immersive soundscapes, delivering an electrifying experience that is both intense and dancefloor-ready.

Featuring six carefully curated tracks, the EP encapsulates Alemao’s signature style—dark, potent, and driving. From the lush, enveloping pads to the acidic basslines, each track builds an atmospheric narrative. The standout track, "High Life," takes listeners on a euphoric journey with distorted vocals and a pulsating rhythm, building to an intoxicating high. French artist Franck Ros also brings his unique touch to this track with a remix that adds a fresh perspective to the original, marking his debut on the label.

The title track, Structural Dynamics of Flow, is another highlight of the EP, weaving together complex textures and infectious grooves. Accompanying the original is a remix by SNYL, whose take on the track infuses it with a new energy, creating an ideal blend of intensity and flow. Like Franck Ros, this is SNYL's first release on Espacio Cielo.

Completing the EP are two more dynamic tracks: Vultures and Revolver, which showcase Alemao’s range and creativity, ensuring the EP’s versatility across different moods and settings.
This release reinforces Espacio Cielo's mission to push the boundaries of electronic music by providing a platform for innovative and experimental sounds. Alemao's latest work is poised to resonate with fans of dark, acid-laced disco, while also introducing fresh energy to the global electronic music scene.

It is almost that time of the year to look back at the releases of your most cherished genre(s) and make the ultimate supreme list of the very best tracks of 2024. Well, do yourself a favour and save a spot for “Vultures” by Munich-based producer Alemao. The rising & shining producer has been having a busy season with well-received appearances on some of the most vital outlets of the so-called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene: NEIN, Hifi/Lofi, Side Up Works, Mélopée, and Espacio Cielo are a few of the imprints on which his darkness-infused cuts popped up within the last months. A couple more in the pipeline before the Feierabend? Possibly.

Part of the intense “Structural Dynamics of Flow”, his forthcoming EP on the mighty Spanish powerhouse Espacio Cielo – featuring SNYL and Franck Ros on the remix duties by the way –, “Vultures” closes the soirée wrapped in a thick blanket of space elements. Logia Records presents TOVI- Groove Invoker EP. TOVI is an Argentine DJ and producer, co-founder of the production company Corr, along with other DJs from the local Buenos Aires scene. His sound on the dance floor is characterized by a constant and pronounced groove, progressive, with hypnotic and dark undertones, transmitting an energy that keeps the audience dancing.
This EP features two other great exponents of the Argentine scene: PAXU, who is increasingly gaining ground on the city's dance floors and a member of our friendly label Slow Cycle, and Cosmosolar, who has been making a name for himself internationally for some time now, part of the Modula team, another major Argentine label.
