Dave The Machine is a collaboration between indie-dance Brighton band Via Tirana & Freudenthal, Berlin based dj/producer/curator.

Via Tirana provides the back bone of the track where Freudenthal applies his distinct magic, opening up the song, giving it the swagger it truly deserves. The post-punk snarl swimmers below some breathy robot-electronics, moody-Eastern/Morocco synths reinforcing a motorik moonlight drive out into the sand-dunes. Absolute crisp electro pulse, knife-edge chunky beats ala Damon Jee, the french-disco thrust manoeuvres of David Shaw & Dombrance weaving around vocals reminiscent of the bad-seed dark pop of Curses. The track builds and builds, giving you ample time to strike a pose, and strut with your camel down that catwalk, throwing in the sassy hip-shake to the perfect clap-back beats.

You may already know this one… We lock-in the first reload of our burgeoning story so far with a return to Darlyn Vlys’s ‘Wuzu’. Previously featured on the second V/A ‘Muy Duro’ EP, it’s loaded with an instantly recognisable desert-bound vocal, a warm undulating bassline and that perfect balance between space and tribal intensity. And now it’s loaded with a new original and remixes, too…

‘Arrival’ is brand new material from the rising Spanish artist. Perfect for big entrances and mix intros, once again Vlys has nailed that balance between the space aged and tribal with its staccato voodoo voices and purring, velvet machine prowess.

Remix-wise Disco Sentimento founder Tyu strips back ‘Wuzu’ for a woozy percussive twist while Modular Project add a whole new layer of bassline space dust to their remix of ‘Arrival’. Both complement Vlys’s originals, his hip-slinking hypnotic signature and the label’s ever-flourishing remit perfectly.

We expect we’ll hear more from Darlyn on Duro very very soon ...

Cantor’s new track ‘Harmless’ is a sulky and provocative blend of new wave and post punk, with brooding vocals and echoing synth loops creating a mesmerizing sound that is symbolic of the artists’ inner consciousness. The vocalist Borel (@giovannidinello) is a contemporary musician and composer from the Venice Music Conservatory. This track is from Cantor’s new 4-track EP ‘Convergence’, which as a whole is equally as moody and entrancing, exploring concepts that lie at the core of Cantor’s music: distortions, psychedelia, romanticism, and sonic cheerfulness. 

After releasing music on different labels in the past such as Correspondant, Trafico Music, Motordiscs and Nothing is Real, Cantor is releasing this new EP on his own label Underground Pacific. The EP also includes an acid remix by the famed Alexander Robotnick , and the vinyl edition features art from the talented Italian artist Fabio Baggio aka ‘artbajo’.

Sinchi returns with a 3rd instalment of their acclaimed ‘Altered States’ compilation. Once again, raising funds for their own Sinchi Foundation and the work they do in supporting indigenous communities worldwide.

Again this is a truly international affair featuring artists across 4 continents. Representing South America, Altair & Sagan (Argentina), in North America, Mr. Tea (US) and Loui Martz (Mexico). In Europe, Lithuania’s Dannie Fade and British artist The Soviet Union, then crossing in to Western Asia, Syrian duo Boschoco… who’s hit Semsem (released on Sinchi this year), is remixed from the label themselves.

The label has become a symbol of originality and defined by a willingness to experiment with different genres and unknown artists. In the labels own words, 'we hear so much music that is churned out by ‘big name’ artists, which although usually beautiful produced, doesn’t do anything for us. Of course, high quality production is important but the ethos of the label is geared towards music which dares to be different, not judging demo’s from an artist’s reputation and most importantly is it unique enough to stand the test of time’.
