Logia Records presents TOVI- Groove Invoker EP. TOVI is an Argentine DJ and producer, co-founder of the production company Corr, along with other DJs from the local Buenos Aires scene. His sound on the dance floor is characterized by a constant and pronounced groove, progressive, with hypnotic and dark undertones, transmitting an energy that keeps the audience dancing.
This EP features two other great exponents of the Argentine scene: PAXU, who is increasingly gaining ground on the city's dance floors and a member of our friendly label Slow Cycle, and Cosmosolar, who has been making a name for himself internationally for some time now, part of the Modula team, another major Argentine label.

Supported by acclaimed artists such as Jennifer Cardini, Curses, Pete Herbert, Gene Farris, Jerry Bouthier, Severino Panzetta, and Mano Le Tough, just to name a few, the next release of the Barcelona-based label Paradise Children features the respected and innovative Russian duo Radial Gaze. Having already released on vital labels – Eskimo, Calypso, Hold Your Ground, Esthétique, Nein, Hard Fist, and Belly Dance Services –, the partnership between Andrey & Stas delivers this time a six-track EP, consisting in two originals and enlisting a slew of talents for remix duties: Toulouse Low Trax, La Mverte, Tim Paris, and Hanzo & Yaman (SXDNS065).

Despite the immense quality of the remixes, we opted for premiering one of the originals: “Fugu Taste” properly showcases the signature sonority of the St Petersburg brothers. The theme, devoted to making you lose yourself to dance – despite the darkness of the times –, does not fail to bring you that everything-is-going-to-be-alright feeling that only music can provide. Even with its ominous atmosphere, the vibrant orient-influenced synth layer of the track supplies an upbeat and cheerful mood. Another mission accomplished by the comrades.

PREMIERE : Ksky - New Era Of Tenderness

After two highly successful edits (Koi Jaye & Sahrany), an original on a compilation and one remix, Tjade’s debut EP is finally here. The Dutchman comes to Mule Musiq with four diverse electro tracks that are both for the clubs, as well as for home listening. The A-side holds two heavy hitters, one uptempo and one downtempo, that are meant for dimly lit dancefloors, whereas the B-side holds two collaborations with female vocalists that are meant for calmer settings. All tracks are, some very obviously and some metaphorically, inspired by Tjade’s other fascination: space. The EP will be available on vinyl and digital through all known shops from November 6th 2020.

Following his appearance on Soil Records' second anniversary commemorative album, Rambal Cochet earned himself a special place on the label. His style makes him unique, the repeated tonal use of the harmonic minor scale is perhaps the most characteristic of this artist, with a musicality in his works that recall an early stage of Goa, situated long before moving to the force and energy of psy - trance.

His return this time is solo and he does it starring in the tenth reference on vinyl with UFO Researcher, an EP that he releases with 3 original tracks and 2 versions by Cute Heels and Pablo Bozzi. The homonymous track opens side A with an imposing bass and a rhythm that doubles its tempo as if it were IDM, but this is just the foundation of a much more complex sounding structure in which the melodies are crossed by different ranges of frequencies. . Paco Resist is the second track on side A, a cut with the standardized metric of techno but with a great groove originating from the bass line and with arpeggiated melodic elements. The Cute Heels version is more direct than the original track, its rhythm is more marked, direct and less expansive.

Side B opens with Tatra Tropicana, a track with a different sound from the rest, set in a scenario more typical of Synthwave and although this time the musicality is simpler because there are few tonal variations, Rambal Cochet's predilection for the minor hues. The version of Tatra Tropicana by Pablo Bozzi closes the EP. the remix is ​​much more energetic and its sound variations take on an acid tinge.

Croatian producer Time To Sleep continues to deliver those deep energetic hybrid House/Disco vibes with his most recent EP, Taramoto, on Paradiso Records. Provided with two originals, namely  Dancing With Gigi and the EP's title track, both come with a remix each. While Rees took on remix duties for a second dance with Gigi, Brooklyn-based artist Juan MacLean, who's had an impressive 2020 with releases on Correspondant and Aus Music,  reworked Taramoto to come up with a hyper-melodic engraving piece that's designed for the (living-room) dance floors as it boosts latter with full feel good Disco flavors to guide you through a night out or at home. 

Time To Sleep's Taramoto EP will be released on Paradiso Records on October 12th, 2020.

Almighty St. Petersburg-based Dark Disco syndicate Oberwave releases its second compilation. If the first one featured Russian artists only, this time label boss Morze (SXDNS151) gathered also producers from other corners of the world: Collaborators from Spain, Belgium and Indonesia joined forces with the home team in order to deliver a powerful 10-track EP, focused on cold but danceable music filled with gothic and erotic vibes: Pullo remixed by Sunmantra (SXDNS181), Gegen Mann (SXDNS220), Namesis, Etane, Velax, WLDV, Hesperius Draco, Ogny, Штадт, and Morze himself brought together their personal skills and influences to give birth to another solid and vital compilation.

We were given “The Gaffer” by local producer Etane to review. His previous works can be found on other important Indie Dance/Dark Disco labels, such as Ombra International, Sulk Magic, Electrique Music, and Disque Discos. Besides helping with the curation of the syndicate, he also keeps himself busy playing in a synthpop band called Getsuga Tenshou (we checked on YouTube, it’s pretty cool). In his contribution to Oberwave Vol. 2, he combines darkness and groove, an interesting concoction of elements inspired by the musical aesthetics of the 80s – a trademark of his sonority. Shards of Depeche Mode, The Human League, Visage, and Bauhaus were noticed. A little bit of Gary Numan, perhaps. Independently of which influences he directly used, the outcome is definitely one of the highlights of the release.

Sutja has been a friend of Ransom Note for many years, a writer and a creative he has graced our humble webpages on many an occasion. His music career has grown in prominence more recently, however his latest release, an album on Lumiere Noire is perhaps his greatest achievement thus far.

PREMIERE: Pullo, Sunmantra - Astle Rune (Sunmantra Remix)

Thunderous steps echoed through the streets, creating a sinister cacophony of sounds that reverberated of the city walls. Lines of armoured men marched in unison, there army stretching far across the hills and beyond the distance. Their destination was of no importance, it was the journey that would mattered, and the challenges they'd have to contend with along the way.

After releasing several EPs under the moniker Fabian Kash, Swede producer Leo af Ekenstam makes his debut under his own name for Madrid-based imprint Play Pal Music, which is set for release on 13th November. Alongside Ekenstam's two original tracks that marry pulsing rhythms, psychedelic synth lines and sinister melodies, the label have enlisted the skills of several artists to put their own spin on both tracks, including Eliezer, Cornelius Doctor, Local Suicide alongside Time to Sleep and Motel77.
