PREMIERE – Vongold – Pleasure Cinema (Marvin & Guy Remix) (Roam)

Dina Summer, the collaborative band project between Kalipo and duo Local Suicide, invites you to indulge in the excess, glamour, and magic of the 80s with their new ‘Hide & Seek’ EP on Iptamenos Discos. Featuring a blend of new wave, dark disco and EBM fuelled techno, the EP embraces the nostalgic synth filled sound of the past whilst bringing a modern touch.
The EP kicks off with ‘Unter Strom’, which features a dramatic opening that inspires visions of a night sky soaked in neon light. The energy slowly builds until the drums burst onto the scene and you feel at home within the beat. A euphoric melody and captivating vocals perfectly embody the ecstatic feeling of a full dance floor and is setting the tone for what’s to come.
Following the gripping beginning, we move into the title song 'Hide & Seek' - a soaring track which brings a sense of freedom. Shining and '80s reminiscent, it is a radiant and romantic love letter to disco balls, laser beams, smoke machines and hazy dreams. A blissful and invigorating spirit pulses through the song which elicits the feeling that you are floating up into the air, breaking through a sea of grey clouds to reveal the sunshine beyond.
‘All Or Nothing’ is a grungy dancefloor stomper with commanding vocals and a forceful kick and snare which unite to create a relentless and powerful sound. The assertive lyrics and intense electrifying atmosphere will be sure to have everyone’s fists pumping in the air.
'Excess' takes us deeper. Dripping with texture and allure - the track is a lavish, swirling pool of synths and seductive vocals. Its indulgent bassline guides us through a dynamic night-time landscape, leading us into the EP's finale.
Last but not least, the EP also features a club edit of 'Hide & Seek', which gives the track an entirely different feel. The same lyrics now have a newfound sense of urgency. It's darker and biting - a thrilling counterpart to the original version.
Impassioned and electric from start to finish, "Hide & Seek" EP is an impressive addition to the Dina Summer and Iptamenos Discos catalogue. Releasing on February 23rd, 2024 it will be available on 12” vinyl and all digital & streaming platforms.

"Sensory Spaces" EP by Kadiristy kicks off a series of EPs to be presented this summer via Regulardisco. It's a soft "spring" release that balances between eclectic dance melodies and abstractly tropical sounds.

The EP is four original tracks written between February and April 2024 (except "Vortex" previously, which was available on the compilation by the label System - the version on this release is slightly rebuilt and got a fresh remaster). Additionally, there's a spacy “emotional support” remix for the title track by Lauer and a harder club adaptation of “Apex” by Bawrut.

Teniente Castillo returns to Roam Recordings with Two to Tango - an artfully crafted dark offering backed by a strong set of remixers that carry the integrity of the original into uniquely different areas. The original version from Play Pal Music label boss combines guitars and electronic sounds in a way that both sounds like a live band and an abstract excerpt from a conscious machine. Legendary New York artist Justin Strauss takes on the first remix adding a vocal that sounds like it was always meant to be underpinned by an exquisite liquid bassline. Thomass Jackson is up next with a beautifully quirky rendition that feels like an after party for which you want to be invited. Kaputt club resident Nuclear Digital Transistor rounds out the EP with a percussive version that brings out the guitars from the original in a new light and we gotta say if uniquely fitting basslines are your thing Nuclear Digital Transistor seals the deal on this four track EP.

Dan ChiCharron’s EP “Tourist Trap” captures a quirky and playful electronic vibe, with each track offering its own distinct flavor while maintaining a sense of personality.
Tourist Trap kicks things off as a perfect road trip anthem, with its linear bassline guiding the way. The track carries an acid-influenced edge, delivering unexpected "jump scares" that keep you on your toes, making it both hypnotic and thrilling. It feels like a journey that builds anticipation with every turn.
"No One Care About Your Music" transports you into an oddball, spaghetti-western-esque scene, but without the iconic galloping horses. The distorted lead creates a raw, gritty atmosphere, and the tight, straightforward snare hits add to its punchy, stripped-back intensity. It feels like the intro to something rugged, rebellious, and unexpected.
"Tango Together" is a tongue-in-cheek take on sensuality, almost parodying its own sultriness. The repeating vocal hooks mix with a slinky, seductive bassline, evoking the feeling of a cheesy, low-budget scenario, but intentionally done with a wink and a smile.

This Palestine Child of War fundraiser is a collective of underground, fringe and outsider artists and musicians, who have come together to create an eclectic compilation album to raise funds for children of war, via the reputable charity, MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians). All involved feel they must make a stand to raise awareness of the atrocities happening in Gaza and Lebanon, to show support for the innocent children and civilians who are suffering, and to help raise money for much needed aid.

When we first put the call out for people to be involved, we were overwhelmed with support. People feel passionately about this and want to offer their creativity to help. There are 25 artists/acts and musicians offering their work (26 tracks) for free – including one electronic artist to curate the album, and one to master it. The genres included are wide ranging and span everything from guitar music/post-punk and new wave, to modern folk, electronic music in many forms and styles, spoken word, experimental, instrumental, rap and more. All are offering either a previously limited release, or unreleased, track and many have created pieces specifically for the compilation. Some pieces are uplifting and light. Some are charged and political. We have not been prescriptive in what people should offer.

The talented 25 stem from a diverse range of backgrounds and nationalities, demonstrating international support for the cause across many music genres. At first, everyone involved were people we know; a rag tag group of artists and musicians from all areas of the UK, to France, Sweden and Berlin. These include Chris Mackin/Rotter, members of Meatraffle, Scud FM and Red Peril, electronic artist Maria Uzor (ex-Sink Ya Teeth), house DJ and producer who started at the original Blackburn raves: DJ Funk Boutique, electronic artist and producer MAN2.0, Belfast producer Simon Sheldon and more. However, as the project rolled over the first few weeks, it instantly gathered even more meaningful momentum, and great additions to the compilation were young Moroccan and Colombian electronic artists Reda Saiarh and Ravetop, San Francisco DJ and producer Jason Peters, Belgian producer soFa elsewhere who offered a track from his forthcoming 2025 album with Kwaito legend, Sandy B, and a young Palestinian/New Zealand rapper, Imagine This, with New Zealand Hip Hop artist Che Fu.

30+ physical collages, in the Palestine tricolours, have been created, then digitised, so that each track has its own download image. These are also available for purchase, as part of the fundraiser.

We think this eclectic collective is providing a raw, strong and profoundly purposeful compilation with work coming from fringe musicians, who are mostly politically unrestricted by managers and labels. This is part of its charm and impact, and probably why there are so many submissions. It's a protest album with heart and our main intention is to raise funds and awareness. No one will make any profit from this and everyone involved will promote this album strongly to take affirmative action.
