Tunnel Signs is the nom de plume of Aussie born - NYC sometimes lover, fighter, romantic Ash Moses. With a taste for playing and producing records that embrace the darkness, Moses parts the sea and finds the wonky middle ground between reverb drenched post-punk, hypnotic techno and spaced out disco. Having released on forward thinking labels such as Nein, Clouded Vision and HAKT, Moses has only just begun adjust the looking glass with 2016 set to be his darkest year yet.

The next outing for Canada’s My Favorite Robot sees the act enlist a crack team of remixers to tackle some of their own productions. French duo and close MFR associates Villanova do their perfectly analogue and machine made thing on ‘Manifesto,’ which is a dark, electric and frazzled cut full of abstract design and rich texture, but importantly it also has a deep and inviting groove right at its core.

The Gemini Brothers have been crafting a singular disco sound for the last three years now. Made up of sibling production duo Ionut and Razvan they have a rugged, machine made disco style that is physical and cosmic and has previously dropped on Bearfunk, ISM Records and Glenview Records, often with support from the likes of Faze Action and Andrew Weatherall.
Up first is their expertly spangled, churning dark disco chugger ‘Lost Babylon.’ It has tough arps, spitting cosmic sounds and spiralling synths that take you ever higher as the macho but slow groove rolls on with serious weight. It’s a real crowd shocker that will make a big impact in any set.

We are honored to premiere one of the sublime remixes on Bird of Paradise's upcoming release Pulse Generator. 

Kieran Holden takes control over the melodic & moody & slow burning title track Pulse Generator. He gives it a cheerful and lively twist making it an infectious & acidic 8O's electro pop alike gem. No pumping beats, no speedy bmp's, but a very nice mid-tempo slice of groove. 


Once so often you come across something very special. Something that's of the beaten track. The Sunderland (UK) based producer Jo Howard who goes under the moniker Bird of Paradise (@birdofparadisemusic) created something special. You'll hear that he is not your usual electronic music producer. With a background in music that goes way back in different styles and genres you will surely hear the impact on this sublime release. It's a release that sounds totally different than we are used to listen to over here at @Tanzgemeinschaft. We are loving it.

The upcoming release Pulse Generator containing 2 originals and 2 remixes will hit the digital shelves pretty soon (27/05). The EP will see the light of day via the Join Our Club imprint. The imprint is know to bring work that sounds a little unexpected.

Heute präsentiere ich euch einen meiner Lieblings-DJs aus meiner Sammlung. MPathy ist gebürtiger Berliner und einer der tragenden Köpfe hinter Steyoyoke Records.  Aufgewachsen im Berlin der wilden 90er wurde er natürlich ganz früh von elektronischer Musik geprägt. Später verbrachte er ein paar Jahre in Chicago und Shanghai, wo er in die lokale Elektro-Szene eingebunden war. Nach dem Abschluss seines Audio Engineering Studiums kam Marco 2012 zu Steyoyoke Records und es folgten zahlreiche eigene Produktionen und Kooperationen unter anderem mit Florian Rietze, Sasch, BLANCAh und Animal Picnic. Als DJ versteht es MPathy wie kein anderer diesen ganz eigenen und faszinierenden Steyoyoke Sound zu spielen. 

Marco und ich haben uns letztes Jahr dann spontan am Alex auf ein Bierchen getroffen und es gibt so Begegnungen wo man einfach sofort weiß das PASST. Deswegen freut es mich umso mehr, dass er meinen heutigen Geburtstag-Mix eingespielt hat. Marco vielen Dank für dieses überragende und mehr als faszinierende Geburtstag-Geschenk. Mark Slee - Linger: Summer Touch [June 2016]

The music in this mix represents what I like to listen to when hanging out with just a few friends after a long night out. Sounds that I prefer as a soundtrack to my mindless spaced-out conversations on a couch rather than tracks designed to work a crowd on a dance floor...loopy, spacey, trippy, stripped, strangely structured, quirky, and subdued.

I was actually glad that my friends at Electronic Groove (@egroove) asked me to do an afterhours-specific mix rather than a regular anything-goes mix. My last few mixes left me feeling like I was getting a little too "comfortable." I started getting self-conscious that I was getting predictable on both the types of songs I would choose and the way I would mix them together. I started getting bored of myself. That being said, I found this mix to be satisfying to put together. Hope you dig.

Also, since these mix posts tend to reach a wide audience, I'd like to use this platform to show my solidarity as a straight ally with the LGBTQ community, especially to those who feel isolated or alone right now. At a personal level, all shootings are terrible, but this Orlando massacre has emotionally hit me the hardest in the last few years.

I've been told that the best immediate ways to show support right now are by:

Singularity Techno - 44 Amazing House & NuDisco Tracks from 2016 

2016 – what a weird year in history and what great year for electronic music! Soaking up and processing all the turmoil, terror and tragedy, groundbreaking producers turned 2016 into the best year for the electronic music underground ever. Not (yet) in sales numbers, but definitely in terms of creativity, emotional extremes and in well-made references to other decades and past styles. 

While the whole world endures global threats together, artists discotised oriental 1970s psychedelica into shamanic slow-mo-dancefloor burners while dark and melancholic 1980s cold war New Beat, New Wave, Cold Wave, SynthWave, trippy 1990s Acid, PostPunk, Trance and Industrial influences remained on the forefront of the most interesting parts of the NuDisco scene. Deep House and Tech House artists discovered the epicness of Kosmische Krautrock masterpieces. Heavy synths, arpeggiated basslines, tropical rhythms, weird insanity sounds and mystic spirituality vibes were added to a fantastic progressive sound experience. I dare to say: singularity in music just happened, in terms of a meltdown of styles and influences into a genre-wise non-definable „Magical Terrestric Dance“ mashup, like the soundtrack of a Tarantino-on-Acid version of Avatar, somewhere between Deep House, Tech House, Nu Disco, Indie Dance and Techno.

See you all on the other side, in 2017. Everything is going to be awesome – if we keep on dancing to great tunes :).
