Dead Violets Night es el nombre artístico de la DJ y productora fundadora de El Garaje de Frank. Un tema del proyecto turco de post-punk Rain To Dust sirvió para capturar en una imagen el sabor de las sesiones de la DJ francesa.
Originaria de Saboya, pero ya parte clave de la noche madrileña, Dead Violets Night hizo sus primeros pinitos musicales en el mundo del metal, siendo guitarrista de varias formaciones. Después, se enamoró de la electrónica y de la música oscura y cambió la guitarra por una mesa de mezclas. Desde El Garaje ha promovido la escena electrónica musical más arriesgada y ha asistido a toda clase de festivales de electrónica europeos. Aunque comenzó a pinchar a finales del año pasado, la pandemia le ha servido para dedicarse a los platos en cuerpo y alma y hacer una gran selección de EBM, acid, techno industrial y electro. Colabora mensualmente con la emisora francesa Radio Alto para las que graba podcasts de lo mejor de la electrónica oscura.
Sus primeras sesiones vieron la luz en el medio que ayudó a fundar teniendo una fantástica recepción internacionalmente y pronto le surgió alguna colaboración como con la plataforma Zyrcadian Editions, Archaic, Diffuse Reality, Tracklistings, Herzblut y Elektropedia Analog Kollective. Debutó como DJ en la mítica sala Specka, donde actúa como residente en las fiestas de Bizarro creadas por Nöle, y ha actuado también en el Killing Time de Valencia, Melting Pot Radio, en el Liège New Wave Festival y el 8K. Ha pinchado también en el concierto de Ultra Sunn, que ayudó a organizar. Amante de la oscuridad y de las sesiones dinámicas y eclécticas, siempre podrás encontrar algo de EBM y acid en sus mezclas realizadas enteramente con vinilo. Sin dudas, nos quedan muchas noches de violetas muertas por delante. 

Dead Violets Night is the stage name of the DJ and producer who founded El Garaje de Frank. A track by the Turkish post-punk project Rain To Dust served to capture the flavour of the French DJ's sessions in an image. 
Originally from Savoy, but already a key part of Madrid's nightlife, Dead Violets Night took her first musical steps in the world of metal, playing the guitar in various bands. Later, she fell in love with electronic and dark music and swapped her guitar for turntables. From El Garaje, she has promoted the most underground electronic music scene and has attended all kinds of European electronic festivals. Although she started DJing at the end of last year, the pandemic has helped her to dedicate herself body and soul to the decks and make a great selection of EBM, acid, industrial techno and electro. 
Her first sessions saw the light in the medium she helped to found and had a fantastic reception internationally but soon she stared collaborating with other labels, such as Zyrcadian Editions, Archaic, Diffuse Reality, Tracklistings, Herzblut or Elektropedia Analog Kollective. Her debut as DJ was in the legendary club Specka, and she has showed her skills at Killing Time in Valencia, Melting Pot Radio, Liège New Wave Festival and 8K. She has also DJed after Ultra Sunn’s concert in Madrid, an event where she also worked as a promoter. A lover of darkness and dynamic, eclectic sets, you can always find some EBM and acid in her vinyl-only mixes. Without a doubt, there are plenty of dead violet nights ahead of us.

We celebrate Pride Month in June to commemorate the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots in NYC in 1969 when the gay community first ignited the pride movement. Today, Pride Month extends across all of LGBTIQ and honours the community’s impact on the world. In electronic music in particular, LGBTIQ artists, promoters, and party-goers have profoundly shaped the scene for decades. To us, it is a beacon of diversity, inclusion, and Pride.

In this spirit, DESSERT wants to give something back: queer artist CENKK’s remix of Rui da Silva’s 90s Trance classic ‘Touch Me’ encapsulates the ecstasy of the golden age of Techno in a stripped, modern framework. Quest is one of those new school selectors who have taken the art of crate digging to an all-new level. Italian-born, Berlin-based but having spent time in London working at the legendary Vinyl Pimp, he has long been mining the depths of everything from UKG to outré techno, Italian hip hop to long-lost house. Importantly, he uses those sounds to tell his own stories, often with an air of mystery and intrigue that plays out like an adventure into the unknown. 

Many mixes follow a traditional arc of increasing energy levels but in this week's podcast, Quest plays with those expectations to build up and then pull back, threading together minimal rhythms then raw and crunchy wave sounds. Twisted electronics lead into celestial acid and the smooth and seductive sits next to the dark and edgy. It's a low-key, low-lit selection that draws from mutant strains of house, techno and electro that are both futurist and dystopian. Quest might be his moniker, but it is also a perfect description of his mission.

His productions, collaborations and remixes have been released on labels such as Controlla, Bonkers, Nuff, Veneno, Logia records, Emerald & Doreen, Espacio Cielo, among others. Through his sessions he tries to be disruptive, generating atmospheres to momentarily break the environment with hard and danceable sounds. Likewise, its dynamic sets, without being tied to a genre, although he have great influence on indie dance, today he sound is more versatile way. This last year he has been co-ed with great artists. Great artists have wanted to do B2b with him, 1 Local Suicide, 2 Alejandro Veneno, 3 Ximena de Alix x Ximena and also shared a booth with Adrian Marth, Teniente Castillo, Kate Stein, Javier Ferreira, Thomass Jackson, among others. He has performed and been a resident in all PE clubs (Chula, Mar & wanna, Casa Tortuga, ...) He has also played in Bar Oriente, Japan, Xakhali, Wild Sundays , Sincensaura festival & CHULA FEST.

Behind the alter ego "Ultratube", there is a tremendously curious person with an obsession to constantly investigate new music, new structures and sounds that take him to another emotional state.

His sincere musical passion began to develop in the mid-90s, bathing himself in styles where distorted guitars predominated such as Indie Rock, Punk, Noise, Shoegaze, Indie Pop or Dream Pop, among others. In love with powerful bases and heavenly melodies.

At the beginning of 2000, contact with electronic music began through Techno, of a more minimalist and hypnotic style, with people like Richie Hawtin, Jeff Mills or Josh Wink among others. Already in the mid and late 2000s, he began to have contact with more melodic and atmospheric styles, such as Progressive House, influenced by people like John Digweed, Sasha or Hernan Cattaneo.

Around the year 2022, he falls in love with Disco in its most cosmic and spatial aspect (where he also plays Dark Disco, Italo Disco, Indie Dance, New Beat, Acid, Progressive, etc...).

He usually plays at El Barbero Club (Palma de Mallorca). One of the reference clubs in the city in terms of quality electronics with more than 30 years of experience.

The mixes he creates are usually journeys through hypnotic, narcotic, lysergic and melodic-melancholic sounds where they come together to create a rise in the listener's emotional intensity.

Andrew Weatherall was a main influence for the Something Spæcial series from the get-go, so here finally is The Robot Scientists tribute to one of the most influential, creative, productive, classy and original producers we know. We decided to pick the tracks, remixes and co-productions from him we love most and put them in almost full length into a slowly developing, slowly grooving pretty long mix that pays complete respect to the meticulously drafted tracks and all their fantastic details mainly from his A Love From Outer Space years 2012-20. With a career spanning from the late 90s, Granada-born DJ and producer Jj. Funk has become a key figure in the Spanish electronic scene. He has received multiple awards, including the Granada Electronic Culture Lifetime Achievement Award (2021/22) and Best Record Label for Quinta Cuerda Records (2022/23). He also won the Sun & Snow Festival Competition in 2019.

He is the director of Quinta Cuerda Records, host of the long-running Groove Addicts Radio Show (now in its 13th season), and co-director of Mediterranean House Radio. He is also a resident DJ at the exclusive Riu La Mola Resort in Formentera, where he performs extended daily sets throughout the summer season.

Musically, he is known for an eclectic and genre-crossing approach, blending Electro, Breakbeat, House, Nu-Jazz, Slow Techno, Downtempo, Italo Disco and more—always outside conventional boundaries. His versatility has earned him residences and appearances in many of Granada’s key clubs, as well as venues across Spain.

Throughout his career, he has shared the booth with artists such as &ME, Adam Port, Axel Boman, Pional, and many others. Beyond the club world, he is also an ambassador for Beatsdonor, supporting childhood bone-marrow cancer initiatives through electronic music.

Fully devoted to club culture for decades, he approaches every set with a unique and narrative-driven sensibility—offering a distinctive sound that always leaves a strong impression on the dancefloor.

TOTS (a.k.a Santiago Sosa ) was born in Ushuaia and raised in Bahia Blanca, Argentina.
He started as party organizer, his first party was on 2010, called "White Mansion Party"
Nowadays he became a producer and Dj. Co-founder of Logia Records, and part of Renuna Music, he played in several under clubs of Buenos Aires, where he now lives.
He has released with Logia, Quixotical Records, Anti-Frequence, and he will soon get his first EP out on Irrelevante.
