Originally from the Isle of Skye, an island on the West Coast of Scotland, now residing in Inverness – the Capital of the Highlands, Duncan MacPherson AKA Terra runs the Counterterraism Mix Series on Soundcloud, alongside fellow music cognoscente’s @karlmarkham and @robdun2804.

Starting in 2020, the series has already welcomed industry heavy hitters such as Tronik Youth, The Robot Scientists, Duncan Gray, Machinegewehr, Hola Estrella, and Celestino (SXDNS curator) to mention just a small sample.

The Counterterraism Mix series was founded to help share and promote artists within the Slow Techno, Indie Dance and Dark Disco genres. Now with a growing listenership, it has cast the net wider, encompassing a plethora of styles including EBM, Italo Disco, Nu Disco, and guitar-heavy rifting tracks with Acid House overtones.

Within the series Duncan, Karl and Robbie alternate in offering up a monthly Counterterraism Residents mix which aims to take you on an hour-long journey through the wide range of styles they enjoy.

Greek Disco God Dim Zach is a rare occurence: a charismatic, talented DJ turned prolific producer and songwriter who, having imposed himself through sheer talent and hard work, has become ubiquitous in his country, Greece. A shift many dream of, although few achieve as successfully. And for good reason, blessed with a mission (real name) Dimosthenis Zachariadis rarely fails to generate feelgood emotions, beaming up listeners to the dancefloor of an imaginary Mediterranean nightclub of his own hedonist creation.

A self-confessed work-alcoholic with a relentless output, this multitasker juggles as many projects as he can lay his hands on: remixing new artists as well as old hits, releasing on plethora of major and independent labels, having in time proved himself as seasoned songwriter and live artist in his own right - he's behind electro pop band Liebe with vocalist/guitarist George (three albums to date including, the last, 'Revolution of Love' on Emerald & Doreen). Notwithstanding this punitive studio schedule still allows him to deejay in clubs and host a couple of weekly radio shows on popular stations (his sound does wonders on the airwaves).

In the same year, debut single also appeared which was a result of collaboration with Lexy. Single "The Greatest Dj" gave us all a taste of what was to come on upcoming massive album "Loud" (2000) - An album whose tracks were played on mainfloor events around the world.

Istanbul artist Korhan Oraydın known as Non Square delivers a set that guides us across a plain of broken, jarred and rugged percussive elements all the way from 60 to 130bpm. This Album, a child of the Shelter Me Festival in December 2020, is in Aid of Shelter UK and the wonderful work they do to helping people with homelessness or difficult housing conditions.
The Festival took place over 3 days, across the 3 cities of Manchester, London and Leeds, and several of the artists who performed live at the event have contributed to this production too.
The track used for the project is entitled Shake Up Your Mind by Steady State which contains a vocal sample of Ofra Haza from her song entitled Im Nin Alu. All remixes were created with the greatest love and respect, with one common goal, to help others less fortunate than ourselves through music, unity and genuine will to make a positive change.
Each and every one of the artists, producers and mastering services have generously given their time freely to create a unique album of 21 remixes, spanning a colourful musical spectrum from Dense Dark Dubbiness, through Timeless Techno and Uplifting Acid, to Squelchy Squalid Chuggers.
This is a limited release with all proceeds going the Shelter Uk.
