Domenic has been an avid supporter of releases on AER & my other releases since the beginning. I'm pleased to have him contribute to the series and his mastery as a DJ & selector is unparalleled. New debut album from him dropping later this month on Alien Communications called 'Basement Philosophy" to add to his back catalogue of releases.

Domenic Cappello has maintained his weekly Saturday Subculture residency, the flagship night at Glasgow’s Sub Club, since 1994. Subculture has thrived where so many house clubs have flagged because the night has always embraced and sought out the most innovative and culturally relevant electronic music - regardless of fickle fashions or commercial pressures.

Atmospheric Existence with Miles Atmospheric & Special Guest Domenic Cappello

Spent some time in recent months thinning out the record collection, those no longer listened to off for others to discover. Parting with vinyl and the memories attached is never easy, but lots of record listening was fruitful with a handful of newly discovered B side gems making it worth the while!

Much of the time was spent listening to records from the late 90s, early 2000s, taking me back to the art of crafting wonky mixes on belt drive Soundlab turntables - just a pile of records and 90 minutes on a chrome tape to fill with a range of sounds. Given limited funds and records owned I'd scour B sides for new and interesting sounds. 

So here's a mix from vinyl from this era, all records still cherished! Criss-crossing genre, 2 hours of trip hop, a little hip hop/modern soul/funk, broken beats/breaks and off into deep early 2000s house. A couple edits of tracks and a couple of new records squashed in that sound of the era for good measure.... hope you dig.

Let'z roll back to tha yr of 1986'. I was 1 yr fresh in2 Chicago House & Detroit Techno but could NOT let go of my most passionate sound by my favortite Industrial Music group, Ministry. I was blessed 2 hear/see them live on this tour on their Orlando stop @ Electric Ave.
My cousin & myself had front row & my sister Angie was chilling with the group back stage.
This was a concert that still inspires me whenever I hear or play any of their tracks on this album. Also from Chicago, I would like 2 see a street named after founder of Ministry & frontman, Al Jourgensen. Most def one of Chicago'z electronic music pioneers.
In any case, if you're a hardcore industrial head like myself, then you can RELATE!!!

1.	“50 Arc” is an unusual name for a club / label, where does it originate. What is the idea behind It?
Ha ha, yes it is pretty unusual. Its a measurement in astronomy. Cosmic imagery has been used for decades by artists who push boundaries to convey new forms of musical expression, going back to the space jazz of Sun Ra and his Arkestra, to Daphne Orams experimental electronics, to the pioneering electronic artists from Detroit, this link between space, the cosmos and musical expression continues today. So the 50arc name tunes us into a very rich heritage of ideas without constraint or boundaries, and hopefully matches our intent for the night, which is musical open mindedness and a feeling of complete freedom, which we hope everyone experiences when they come....
