The idealist in me brought out some great mixes.  From the original description:

"You know when you're on the beach, layin' under the sungods with your walkman on.. your eyes closed but all you see is brightness. The sounds in the background are happy, filled with hope. The kids are runnin' around, yellin' and hollerin'. The crashing shore, the tight bodies surfin' only a few feet away.  And all of a sudden the most beautiful, rich, phattest jam comes into your conscience. And for that one moment in your life, everything is washed away on that not-too-distant shore. Everything feels good. Under that sun. And you want it to last forever and ever.. I remember once having this experience. I was a teenager, and I felt like a kid. I remembered this moment and I never let it go. I still remember the mix I was listening to. It reminds me of the utter joy I felt within myself that day. It is my dream to provide the sounds that deliver an experience like that."

Just like dd21 and dd23 are in a tie for my favorite techno mixes, dd24 is in a dead heat with dd22 for my favorite house mixes.  The early 2000s were an equally special time for hard techno and deep house, and I'm happy to have been a part of it.

Jolts and surges of timeless electro, breakbeat, and house by Súya. A part of Amsterdam’s Klokwerk collective and hardwired for the early 90’s rave sound he can be found determinedly digging in the dustiest of crates for gems. With a particular fondness for retro-futuristic electro laced with glitches and bleeps soundcloud.com/djsuya stitched together this energetic mix that simultaneously gets deep as the pitch goes up.

For our fifteent FREEK-MIX, we invited Súya from Amsterdam. Freek himself hails from the club-scene of Amsterdam, therefore there's no better match to invite Súya from the Amsterdam-based collective Klokwerk.

On this mix, Súya deliveres a selection that relates back to the best of electro, breakbeats, house and old trance. With tasteful selection and mixing he brings you to the 90's warehouse, but also down to deepest dance floor in a late and dark sunday morning in Amsterdam.

We reached out to Amsterdam's Súya as we are big fans of his mixes, and asked if he would like to do one for Somewhere Down There. Thankfully, he agreed, and graced us with this wonderful mix.

When providing the mix, Súya said "When I think of Australia, beautiful nature and long drives come to mind. Reminding me of driving to parties when me and my friends were about 16 years old. We didn't have a driver's license, but we would drive for two hours to the other side of the Netherlands to go to a beach club in Bloemendaal. 

The first hour of the mix is inspired by driving to and being at a party with your friends. The second hour portrays a kind of 'late night driving' vibe while driving home, still being in the mood."
