I made this for a competition :-) worked with a very broad theme. Freedom. In a world that sometimes forgets to read a history book. A world where war becomes normal again, excluding people an everyday talk. Racism, sexism, overall xenofobia...... We have no control over what is going on. What I find important within a world of hate, is to know the places where your safe. Where you can be who you are and want to be. It's a small thing I do. But if anyone is effected by the $!%# around us, be strong, stay safe and know there are people who leave a light out. We are not alone, when we speak out together.

Superhappy to have mixtape master and space commander Stu Mills aka themills23 on the show! Millsy is a self-confessed musical hobbyist whose sonic roots lie in the halcyon progressive house era and his monthly pilgrimage to John Digweed’s hallowed Bedrock nights in London.
Over time, his musical interests and BPMs have shifted towards the downtempo indie house style, drawing inspiration from Andrew Weatherall, Sean Johnston and a cast of excellent DJs who have paved the way before him.
Millsy is often recognised for creating sets that blend lesser-known tracks with unique melodies and recognisable remixes. He’s kept things close to his progressive roots here, with a mix that offers listeners what he considers a few classics of the indie genre, alongside more up-tempo tracks to get the feet moving (but never quite breaking that magical 118 BPM limit). Made this over a decade ago now as I always found it weird nobody remixed it with a drop melody that follows the chorus. Also the original was asking for a trance remix so bad imo.

Lot of hesitation around posting this one. I hope SMNM fans and estate can appreciate it as a tribute. I found this song so inspiring the moment I first heard it on Mr. Sheep’s Youtube Channel I couldn’t even decide if I’d go for a Lento Violento-type beat or Drum & Bass so I did both. I’ve been loving this bootleg remix quietly from my hard drive but today is the day that I share it with the world.

Sommerklänge (pron. zˈɔmɜklˌɛŋə) started as a genre agnostic studio project in the mid 2010s with a primary focus on remix competitions. You can still find a selection of these early works on this page and the more recent official releases over at @sommerklange. 

Having gone from Tropical House to Future Bass and Hardwave, the Sommerklänge project has now gone back to the roots, representing the Harder Styles of Dance Music. Still without socials, cause "Social Media is ruining your life and you don't even know it" - Modern Intoxication, 2021.
