This Detroit born multi-media artist has inhabited the north for two decades, studying grizzly bears and throwing bush parties within the vastness of Alaska and British Columbia, Canada. 

He has performed at international electronic music festivals like Shambhala, Basscoast, and Burning Man, yet his favorite places to play are the most unorthodox–the dark basements, abandoned barns, pop up-galleries, and far out zones of deep wilderness autonomy.

Robert's DJ sets reflect his love for underground music and culture which can be traced back to the the first time he heard Iggy Pop's "The Idiot," as a little boy in the Motor City, circa 1977. The music he plays ranges through territories of techno, cold wave, synth, house, new wave, post-punk, lo-fi, and disco, but he is also well acquainted with arcane experimental sonic realms. 

For music production, he employs the use of analog & FM synthesizers, drum machines, and field recordings taken from his wilderness journeys to create experimental dance tracks as well as ambient pieces enveloped in smokey atmospheric layers of sound. 

Robert has released music on labels such as Emerald & Doreen, The Black Lodge, Ombra INTL., Divination & Strategy, Trevor's Haus, Dead Channel, Underground Pacific, and Sons of Traders (forthcoming).

Emma Star has been a dancer her whole life.. so it was only natural to be drawn to DJing back in 1997.. Full love and support from her community in Nelson BC, Emma Star has had the privilege of playing at every Shambhala since the beginning. Playing festivals and parties coast to coast, creating a musical tapestry wherever she goes,  Her love of mountains and sweetness of the Nelson scene called her home where she played regularly at various night clubs with her ladies, an all-girl group called Meow Mix. Later travels to far off lands such as India, Thailand and Sweden brought new depth and inspiration to Emma Star‘s night sky, honored and deeply inspired to share her love of music and dance with anyone who loves to be taken on a journey of the senses.
