Hell Yeah return with more freaky stuff from Mexico in the form of the Paranormal EP from La Guardia de la Luz.

LGDLL has regularly appeared on the label in the last few years, most recently with his Magnetic Field in 2022. He has an irresistible and hard-to-categorise Balearic-not-Balearic sound that veers from stoned dubs to cuddly deep house via psychedelic workouts that take you on a real trip.

The title track kicks off this one with a far-sighted cosmic gaze and distant twinkling melodies over a super slow-motion groove that sinks you in deep. 'Tigre de Bengala' features multidisciplinary vocalist and singer La Zorra Zapata and brings a more percussive sound with jumbled hits and drums as squelchy acid lines douse the mix in warmth. Wordless vocals swirl about the mix to exotic effect and ensure this radiant sound really hits the mark.

La Zorra Zapata again features on closer 'La Resistencia' which is a widescreen sound with smeared pads and astral synths that suspend you in mid-air while the vocals drift about like clouds. It's an otherworldly atmosphere for floating on 5am dance floors.

La Guardia de la Luz's Paranormal EP truly taps into some sublime supernatural sounds.
