In 2004 Zezia started attending Local Outdoor Psy Trance Events. It was at these gatherings he was first introduced to both international and local live acts. After being mesmerized time & time again by the talent of these artists Zezia decided that on-stage is where he wanted to be.

Zezia is signed to one of the most up and coming Psy Trance Labels in SA, PsynOpticz Productions. He has released two EP's, with {psy.ology} records SA, owned by PsynOpticz, and Mainstage Records ISR. As well as numerous original tracks, collaborations and remixes on Phantasm records UK, Iono Music GER, Yellow Sunshine Explosion UK and Nexus Media SA. Zezia can be heard bashing out groovy baselines, melodic leads and psychedelic beats on a regular basis. 

Since his explosion onto the psy scene Zezia has played numerous indoor and outdoor psychedelic trance events, such as Jungala Festival, {psy.ology} festival, Earthdance Cape Town, Alien Safari, Mindcultivation, Remanufacture, The Village, Equinox Experience, lock down, MMD, Zone Festival, Boomerang,Twilight Festival, Tswaing Crater Gathering and Fu-Cha Gathering. He has preformed alongside the likes of Avalon, Menog, Astral Projection, Rinkadink, Ritmo, Iliuchina, Regan, Braniac, Poizon, Sub-Zero, Slug, Deliriant, Rubix Qube, Orca, Blazed, Toxic, Skazi, Headroom, Earthling, Broken Toy and Atomic Pulse just to name a few.

Whether performing live or djing his own production, one thing is certain he is always ready to blow your mind with the upside down, twisted and bouncing beats of psychedelic trance.

Behind the Ace Ventura project is Yoni Oshrat - one of Israels biggest talents in electronic music, with a career on top of the scene, stretching for over a decade. Already from an early age Yoni was heavily influenced with music.

He was born in a musical family with his father being a famous Israeli composer and song writer (for instance behind the Eurovision song "Halelujah"), and it was there
fore no surprise that he went for a career in the sound-business; at first in the TV and movie-industry as a sound producer.

After several years of intense touring, playing at some of the biggest parties and festivals worldwide, Yoni's taste moved more and more towards the slower, groovier side of music though, and from 2006 he took the decision to leave the Psysex project and form the two soloprojects SCHATSI and ACE VENTURA. With Schatsi he was quickly featured on labels like Hadshot and Mylo's Breastfed Recordings, and top DJ's like John Digweed played some of his material on numerous occasions. More attention was put into the Ace Ventura project though, and using a fusion of the hard, pumping dancefloor-oriented style from Psysex and the deeper, groovier influences of progressive trance, the Ace Ventura project became a big success, and in a matter of just a few releases, such as the now classic debut "Cardiac Arrest", he was already considered among the top producers on the progressive trance scene.

Despite playing all around the globe, at major events from Boom in Portugal, XXXPerience, Tribe and Universo Paralello in Brazil, Solstice in Japan, Glade in the UK ,Ozora in Hungary to Indian Spirit, Tshitraka, Antaris and Full Moon in Germany, Yoni isn't resting on the laurels – Working on other projects such as EASY RIDERS – together with fellow friend and partner Roy Tilbor (aka Rocky) – as well as on the newborn project ZENTURA, together with Wouter Thomassesn (aka Zen Mechanics) and last but not least, on the longtime collaboration LIQUID ACE, together with Nicola Capobianco (aka Liquid soul).

Besides producing tracks for various labels, Yoni complied a few successfull compilations, namely the 'New order' series for HOMmega records, which was the first progressive release of the label, as well as 'Digital beings' for Echoes records. Recently he compiled the double CD 'Dance Computer' for Iboga records, and now the 3rd chapter of the 'New order' series is ready to be unleashed as well. These days, final work is underway on the 2nd Ace Ventura album – 'Paradise engineering' – to be released by the end of the year on Iboga records.

8. Spanish Gypsy

Until quite recently I lived the Sierra Guadarrama mountains in Spain for several years where I was exposed to a lot of excellent Flamenco music, which is the music of the Gypsies or Romani. 

Being a guitarist myself I couldn't help but get sucked into figuring out how to play this style on guitar. While I was learning, I was struck by the similarity between Flamenco and North African and Indian music and when I analysed it, I found that they share certain musical scales. (interestingly the Romani were originally a nomadic tribe from northen India that travelled to Europe in the12th century) 

Another musical conjunction was the similarity (to me) between the harmony and rhythm of the opening bars of that quintessentially Spanish dance the Pasa Doble and a lot of Trance built on a gallop rhythm. 

So the original inspirational spark began with the possibility of combining all these musical threads into one piece of music. So, I started by creating the melody on a Flamenco scale, over the rhythm of the Pasa Doble with it's semi-tone harmonic movement and mixed that with certain elements of the older Indian influenced Goa-trance sound, but built it all on a foundation of the big kick and bass from the more modern Psytrance sound. 

Later I dusted off the (steel strung) acoustic and recorded some melodic guitar parts using some newly learned Flamenco licks to emphasis the Gitano flavour. 

The track you hear is the result of this weird musical synthesis of Goa, Psy trance, Flamenco and the Pasa Doble.
