For this the Moog Spectravox had my attention, I was having problems in my studio and something wasn't quite right with this unit. Fearing I had a faulty machine I removed from the rack and tested from my desk. The problem was discovered to be the cable from the synth to the mixer. A much less expensive fix. It can be heard very clear at the end of this piece.

Generation Talk is the lead track and title of Conscience Of Kings new EP that’s available on all major streaming services.
It’s an early insight into the EP released on 24 February 2025  takes Conscience of Kings back to their up-tempo indie rock/pop homeland with a collection of songs about love relationships, emotional issues and everything in between. Catchy melodies and rousing earwormy choruses make this a must listen to release for our followers. We hope you enjoy it as much as we have recording the songs.

liner notes: this song took some maze-walking to arrive at its destination. our album of collaborations on bandcamp ( https://stonerjazz.bandcamp.com/album/up-up-out ) spawned a sonic thank-you card from Jeff. the lyrics came together fast and dirty from both Jeff and I.  soon, we had enough material for several parts. references to literature and history spanned all around us like a rainbow bubblegum bubble inflated by the selfish lungs of a baby dictator. at some point, even a common friend joined our efforts which then led to side-projects being spawned. all of this turned into a creative tornado driven by such an energy that I could not stand it anymore and withdrew to the sidelines .... and just a few days later, Jeff shared this beauty with all new music to our common lyrics. jeff, my friend, you're a ****** genius! Generously, Jeff indulged me in accepting the suggestion for a cover image I produced - based on a Budapest statue I photographed in 2011. no, the world is not spinning as fast as our creative processes -  but you need a darn good stomach for sure .... and hope still sits somewhere in the dark looking out, wide-eyed. jo

POETRY IS VITAL

This threshold space exists for those who feel like listening to some of my quite professional poetry embedded in rather amateurishly recorded but judiciously arranged sound, a modicum of purely acoustic work notwithstanding. SOUND, SPACE AND TIME

Tend your listening senses gently. Even though my general approach welcomes and embraces lo-fi concepts like the precision of spontaneously occuring imprecisions, headphones worth their membranes are recommended - unless you like your sounds flat, mangled, battered and helpless. You don't, do you? Be kind to these soundscapes.

STRUCTURING IMPULSE

Due to the nature of "poetry soundscapes", your listening expectations regarding traditionally structured "songs", sonically purified "raw wildlife soundscapes", keyboard-laden "ambient recordings" or voice-centered "readings" might not be met. You will find some of those in my list of /likes/. "Noise" is a recurring structural element like any other. This is what this sounds like - within its own rights, limitations, tangents and interconnections. Sonic structures. Silent stretches. Poetry emerges from the gaps between the ruts, seeps in from the undergrowth, sweeps down.

Above, there is a tiny poem of mine that I do not understand how to translate into sound. If you do - please act on it. It is a matter of common decency, of course, to keep the title (Small Gifts) and to credit the lyrics to me (jo richter). And please do notify me of your version via a soundcloud message. One bewilderingly beautiful version crafted by mono-lux has already gone public, as well as an amazing version by cthonicist.  You'll find both in my playlist Sympoetic Ultrasounds. This is just a small gift, not a challenge - life already has more than enough of those on offer, doesn't it? Treat it this way.
