Lot's of people have asked me for this set.

2003 at WEMF, Canada.

I don't remember too much but it was a very hot sweaty building and I think it had been put together a bit last minute after a previous venue fell through? 

Anyway there was Drum & Bass before me and I honestly wasn't too sure how to follow it. Canadian crowds can be a little hard to predict so I figured I'd start with the Ms Dynamite bootleg I had just picked up from Balafonic Ben and it set the tone for the night.

Then there's the Luke slater horn track mix with that vocoder "hear The Drummer" bit in it, I think people thought that was my signature tune but it wasn't, it was just straight up coincidence, Good though.

Anyway yeah, it's all vinyl of course, there was nothing else at that period of time and it was a lot of fun, 18 years old and counting.

On September 17 I will be playing two old skool, all vinyl sets at the Alter Schlachthof in Hollabrun, Austria. One set of acid techno/trance and one set of banging hard trance. As a promo for this event I've put together this 20 track set that goes from 135 bpm acid all the way to 175 bpm hard trance ... a staggering 40 bpm increase in just 20 tracks.

What better way to celebrate the tenth edition of my Squat Rocking series of mixes dedicated to the sounds of London's squat party scene than with a tribute to the one and only Chris Liberator? Awesome dj, fantastic producer, this mix pulls together 27 of his solo productions, collaborations, and remixes from the 1990's, all mixed on vinyl by myself in one single unplanned and totally improvised set. In Pearsall's own words: 

I'm originally from New York City but I spent my teenage years in London with my family, where I initially got into electronic music when I was 15, mainly from listening to Jungle / Drum n' Bass on Pirate radio. 

Bitten hard by the bug, I got my first set of decks a year later and started collecting vinyl and teaching myself how to mix. My first night at Escape from Samsara at the Fridge in Brixton, South London made me a convert from DnB to Hard and Acid Trance! 
Over the years I did all kinds of raving in London at Pendragon, Undertow, Frantic and Feva, stomping to pounding Acid at various warehouse squat parties around London.

Life has taken me in many directions since those initial raving years in London, first to Edinburgh, then back to New York, then back to London, and now in Berlin for the last seven years. But that love for hard, fast and euphoric music has never left me, so this mix is designed to give you an overview of where I'm coming from musically.                  

It has a pretty broad spectrum of tunes from both the UK and continental Europe, with sounds ranging from rolling hypnotic Trance to pounding Acid Techno to pumping UK Hard House and screaming Acid Trance before concluding with classic European Hard Trance pitched up to some seriously spicy BPMs!
