An edited Version... Made in Goa on my tiny makeshift studio using a laptop with native sound card, Ableton with Push. and Roland DS-5 active studio monitors.  Field recordings made with a zoom H4

Children ignore me as I record them playing with each other in a weaving village near Bhuj in Gujurat. In the background the Mullah calls to prayer.

The next day, India ate my sound recorder... R.I.P. ZOOM...

Imagine an audio day trip through beautiful countryside to the sound of music.... Birdsong all around, fluffy lambs gambol across field as butterflys flutter by...    

Most of the sounds emanate from the 6 independent mono Virus TI2's channels, the rest is from the Alchemy plugin and ableton drums. Most of the samples  are public domain apart from the recording Tom saying 'This is the life'  recorded straight into soundforge. 

Feeling more and more confident in the studio. Recently Invested in a Yamaha DD55 electronic drumkit and a lovely old Ibanez electro-acoustic bass....  :)I have replace my digital recorder with an H5 so i will start recording soon.

New Ambience ( Free Download )

Not in the big studio today because we are now back in the land of fish currie rice.  :) Very happy to be back in Goa. 

Will just have to make do with my little setup. The Toughbook, Push, a pair of Roland monitors and a TV as my second screen ( cos the laptops screen is tiny )... 

The wee tough-book is loaded with Ableton 9.5 but hardly any plug-ins. Making do with Abletons instruments, Predator,  Podolski VA Synth and scouting the net for patches and samples.  Working with limited resources is a challenge but by surmounting my limitations I hope to get better.

Anyway... Here is the track. The sample was taken from a documentary about the physics of bubbles a while back. I hoped would find a use for it . Bubbles and Physics seems to be reoccurring themes :)

Saw Simon Posford play a Shpongle DJ set on Sunday at Hilltop, Vagator. So nice to see and hear the artist himself playing his own work.

Great to be back in Goa!

A walk along the beach with friends at Elie, Fife. Not far from our home in Scotland. Field recordings of the water on the shore and the geese flying above where taken from Ruby Bay ( picture ) with my trust ZOOM H5 digital recorder. Tune composed in Ableton Live.
