ASHNAIA PROJECT is the Solo Project from Alexandre Cortez

Genres Psychill / PsyDub / Psybient / Chillout / World-Music / Ambient / Downtempo

This project was created in 2010 in Ibiza. The main rule was "No Rules", find where the imagination can go with no musical rules, just feelings and emotions

In The winter of 2010 Alex Cortez decided to make his studio far from the city, surrounded by nature and good vibes he started 4 months of intense musical Production with no outside interference, at that moment Ashnaia Project was born, a new style of music with so many new possibilities, after 4 months the first Ep was ready, Alex first-ever release was out in December of 2010.. from there this project has been the main project of Alex, he puts all his dedication and time to create this intelligent space atmospheric chillout with fusions of ancient world music

as a producer, her releases on soma, space textures, orbitando, and systolic have explored the deeper, atmospheric side of techno and ambient, balancing intricate sound design with hypnotic rhythms.

this same approach extends into dub series, a project originally founded with long-standing late collaborator niamh jobson and now co-hosted with danny greenman (dj greenman), focusing on dub techno and its influence across other sub-genres.

in 2024, she launched 313 connection at la cheetah alongside glasgow selector undercurrent, a night dedicated to the deep connection between detroit and glasgow’s underground. though new, it has already cemented itself as a key fixture in the city’s scene.

beyond djing, kairogen is deeply embedded in the scene, freelancing across lighting, sound, label artwork, and bar residencies, all while keeping a strong connection to the wider club community.

a resident for both epika, the all-femme edinburgh-based collective, and london’s sisu crew, she moves between a wide spectrum of sounds—whether it’s the melodic side of techno, electro, house, or ambient.

with a passion for playing with emotions and creating a sense of togetherness through sound, she crafts sets that feel immersive, intuitive, and deeply connected to the dancefloor.

Music Listener/Lover/Hunter/Collector/Producer/DJ. Many different forms of electronic music exploration.  I start with a blank canvas every time. 

Also interested Synthesizers, VSTs, Ableton, Reason, Field Recording, Neuroacoustics, Music-Technology, Music Science etc

Using Virus TI2, Ableton Live, a PUSH1, Reason 8.3 and sometimes a Zoom H5 to make field recordings and to compose and play with sound.

Many people here have interesting sound spaces to explore. This space is to connect and share tracks with other like minded souls as I learn and move forward in my audio travels. DJ Mixes are now on Mixcloud. ( see link below )
