Born of a music initiation project at Flaminio Fávero public school, in São Paulo's northern region, Embatucadores is a scrap and body percussion group. For this release, Renato has invited amazing global artists to remix the original tracks. Starting today, we'll be releasing 6 singles that will culminate in the complete compilation in the end of July, available as name your price in our bandcamp, as well as all streaming platforms by MCD Records. Most part of profits will be redirected back to the project.

Tatewari (Shamanic Journey) - ft. Missaffir (Ney) & Simay Yaylacı

“Siento una Pena” (“I Feel Sorrow”) is the second single from Guajirando, the debut album from Mito y Comadre. It is a composition inspired by where we come and the mother figure, an attempt to reconnect with the inner child and the paths that have led us to the present. This song symbolizes a refuge on days of insecurity, a search for a connection, staying grounded and a conversation with the soul.

Guillermo Lares recalls: “‘Siento una Pena’ was written one night, after leaving the recording studio in the village of Minca in Santa Marta, sitting on the river bank at daybreak, remembering the place where I was born and my mother.” 

The video for “Siento una Pena” is an animation depicting the journey of a migrant through different scenes and a canoe trip through various places until he comes to the sea. He comes across spirits that keep him company on his travels. The use of photos of natural scenes from Venezuela transports us to real landscapes of great significance. 

The video was directed by the Peruvian animation studio Tenis, which produced Novalima’s Ch’usay. It was made remotely during the pandemic. There is a great cultural affinity between different South American countries, so they understood perfectly the feelings that the song transmits.

i heard the rapture was trending online and i was like i wrote a song about this 14 years ago! 

so enjoy some throwback to the simpler apocalyptic tunes of 2011 and why not check out the rest of the album while youre at it. it's really early stuff but i still find things to enjoy about it. thanks for listening.

While looking for a tribal song to remix, i came across this little gem and was hooked from the first time I heard it.
I wanted to make an upbeat version but the song wanted to stay slow and soft.
