Ben Booth is an enigma, veiled in mystery, surrounded by intrigue and often covered in chocolate. As a DJ superstar, his success has been as meteoric as it has been anonymous. He has scaled the heights of fame and notoriety whilst, extraordinarily, attracting none of the spotlight or the accolades such attributes usually acquire.

Eclectically melding deep rolling house, chunky beats, dirty, funky, shameless, remix-grooves and random resonances so carefully curated. Ben somehow ignores the genre prejudiced, musical style gurus and as a result a delicious chaos ensues whenever he goes anywhere near the controls, taking to dance floor management like a killer whale to seal pups...

Once half of the relatively successful Playdate and Brüth duos, Ben's autonomous DJ persona claims a cute yet prosperous few years in the upper echelons of the Sydney scene.

But, if there is one thing you can guarantee from him it is his musical selection - and he is equally at home playing silky warm-up slots, building an empty room to a gyrating crescendo of sweaty limbs and wailing trippers, as he is at blowing minds whilst headlining the bill.

Ben is a man who can draw and control a crowd going to the petrol station to get a pack of Doritos.

He enjoys a loyal underground following and relative inconspicuousness within Sydney, but those who know and love his musical chemistry will attest; that his sets (like his cooking) are always tantalising - and he’s always willing to share his spoon or let you lick the bowl - or Booth...

Ben's musical interests find him spinning deep, chunky, rolling house, bouncy tech and minimal and progressive tunes in clubs around Sydney, but.. he has a softer side too and he loves melodic harmonies, worthwhile breakdowns, funk, soul and reggae.

Here's a mix of a few of the first tracks I played in 2023 not long after the countdown, closing out the night at our sold out Last Resort NYE party, as well as a few others I didn't get a chance to play, with a dose of unreleased originals and bootlegs that I'm currently testing out. 
After a wild year/years and a mad few days of setup I'll remember this set as a cathartic quick fire ride through some absolutely pumping NSFW Ghetto, Techno, Experimental and Jungle. Although it wasn't recorded on the night, hopefully this mix captures some of that essence.

Artist Bio: 
Minor Circuit is the alias created by Iain Yes as a musical production outlet for heavier, faster and tougher sounds, inspired by the music being played in underground clubs, basements and festival dance floors around the world, from Experimental, Techno, Acid, Ghetto, Footwork, Jungle and everywhere in between. 

Having played around 1000 gigs under various aliases around the world for over 20 years (115 in 2022 alone) as well as having promoted and danced at countless others, Iain knows good music when he hears it. 

Now he is translating as much energy as possible into studio time, with multiple tracks released in the last year ( Roller Blaster Records : UK /  Nein Records : Berlin /  Sonik-Ino : Australia) and a pile of exciting new music in the works.

If Bitter Babe was a perfume, her scent would be animalic—heavy musk, bergamot, worn leather and burnt spices. The Bogotá-born, Miami-bred and now Berlin-based artist has a heady, ultra-rhythmic sound that feels made for sweltering summer nights and feral fantasies. Combining pan-Latin styles with hard drum and industrial touches, she's crafted a singular mood that defines her DJing and production: hazy, high-energy and sensual.

Bitter Babe's ascent on the international circuit has been tied to her role in Miami's electronic renaissance. Whether it's proto-reggaeton, dense ambient or guaracha, her sets and productions are characterised by evocative low-end, darting synths and distorted frequencies that exude drama. With releases on TraTraTrax, Air Texture and SVBKVLT, she's cemented her position as an experimentalist, leaving the door open for more deconstruction and abstraction.

As cofounder of multidisciplinary project LATITUDES, Bitter Babe seeks to unify Latin America's electronic music communities. Her mixes are a great source for discovering under-the-radar acts from Peru, Brazil and beyond, some of whom are featured on her RA podcast. Starting with subby downtempo before moving onto swampy baile funk, technoid mutations of dembow and cheeky UKG, it showcases her expertise for trippy yet deeply kinetic grooves.
