The fourth episode of the Pixan Recordings DJ Series is lead by Tokyo-based DJ D.A.N., showcasing most of the tracks of the latest Pixan & Purple Hexagon compilation: V.A. Super Spreaders (Purple Pixan vol.2).

A shapeshifter of a DJ, playing many parties in Thailand, Goa and Tokyo, D.A.N. expresses his fun-driven outlook on life and love of squelchy sounds and groovy basslines.

Ekanta as the name suggests means the practice of solitude and this is what we intend to do through this compilation. Our aim is to build overwhelming rhythms for dance floor nights, dawn endings as well as mesmerising mornings and create a realm of psychedelic fantasy leading you to dance through the magical forests into a parallel world, where imagination meets reality with some of the top notch artists from the psychedelic scenes.

BMSS Records proudly presents "The Research", the second full length album by Canadian maestro Narko. As the title suggests, the album is the product of 2 years of intense experimentation, tweaking and fine-tuning in the studio: a quasi-scientific process and enlightening spiritual odyssey all at once! The resulting 7 tracks paint a multicoloured psychedelic soundscape that is at once rich, deep, musical and mature.

From the outset, Narko engages the listener with a subliminal synth-based intro worthy of an operatic magnus opus. Backed with face-melting syncopated basslines, cavernous FX, and modulated FM synths, the album means business from the get go. At times almost operatic, at others driving and moody - and held together by outstanding production and meticulous attention to detail - the album immerses the listener on a multi-faceted and mind-warping journey from Full On into Psytrance. "From Above Or Below", a collaboration with Virtual Light, is an absolute dance floor bomb. With "The Space Tribute", Narko delivers a heartfelt and suitably blasting tribute to the late Olli Wisdom aka Space Tribe. Concluding with the relentless "The Results", the album comes full circle and is brought to a satisfyingly psychedelic culmination.

The magnum opus has been appropriately completed with the finest analogue mastering courtesy of Plus Six Mastering and epic artwork from outstanding psychedelic designer Sati.

This really is the ultimate 1-hour psychedelic trip - the Narko way!

The project took more then a year to complete and involved listening to numerous tracks but ultimately selecting only the very finest to appear on special release. “Polar Nights” features artists such as Blisargon Demogorgon, Kali Yuga, Wider, Anubian, Shadow Noises, Lah Narrad, Zaiklophobia, Fobi & Nyama. 

The compilation can be treated as a story from beginning to end, starting with deep atmospheric psychedelia and gradually diving into more dynamic music, which is sure to keep the dancefloor moving.

Napra started music production around 2003 with shitty hiphop beats in Fruity Loops. Since then, he's taken a trip through progressive metal, different DAWs and various tries at electronic styles. He met the psytrance scene in 2011-12 and had a blooming relationship with 16th note basslines and unnecessarily frequent and large kick drums ever since. At the moment he's settled at at least 175 brainfucks per minutes, causing mass cyber-desctruction in Earth's mortal human community.
