Unsere Nr. 179 kommt dieses Mal von einem vielseitigen und international bekannten Künstler, dessen Produktionen mich schon seit langer Zeit begeistern. Als waschechter Mexikaner ist ihm die Vielseitigkeit seines Sounds gewissermaßen in die Wiege gelegt worden. Zum Glück hat er einen Kanal dazu gefunden, um dies musikalisch auszunutzen. Und wie.

Ich begrüße 'Robbie Akbal‘, einem Veteranen der Houseszene in Mexiko. Wie so gut jeden Künstler der elektronischen Tanzmusik verschlug es Robbie auch nach Berlin. Als Gründer des angesehenen Labels Akbal Music machte er zusammen mit seinen Produktionen auf sich aufmerksam, um von keinem Geringeren als Damian Lazarus signiert zu werden. Mittlerweile steht er bei einigen hoch angesehenen Labels wie Crosstown Rebels, Get Physical, Culprit, Kindisch, Sol Selectas, Selador und No.19 unter Vertrag.

Seine Musik wurde kürzlich unterstützt von: Anja Schneider, John Digweed, M.A.N.D.Y. + viele weitere, um nur einige zu nennen. Zudem hat er hat im Studio mit vielen Szenegrößen und Giganten wie Audiofly, Kiki, Dance Spirit, Shall Ocin und mit erstaunlichen Sängern wie Cari Golden und Shawni gearbeitet. Zudem wurden seine Produktionen unter Anderem von Luca Bacchetti, Sascha Dive, Andre Homenn, Inxec, Grant Dell, Metrika geremixed. 
Neben dem Produzieren ist Robbie natürlich auch als DJ weltweit ständig unterwegs. Im großen und ganzen hat er eigentlich schon jede Metropole der Welt bespielt. Tendenz steigend.

Für unseren Blog hat sich Robbie die Zeit genommen einen exklusiven Podcast aufzunehmen, indem er seine Version der Afterhour kreiert. So verwundert es auch nicht, wenn ich euch vorneweg verrate ( Achtung Spoiler!!!), dass das Set eine bunte Mischung aus verschiedenen Stilrichtungen geworden ist, welches aber durchweg dem verspielten, hypnotischen und teils entspannten Überbau treu bleibt. Dazu alles in einem gemächlichen Mid-tempo aufgenommen. Ein Sound der gut das wechselhafte Wetter abbildet und unglaublich viel Spaß beim Hören macht.

Robbie, ich danke Dir vielmals für dieses besondere Set. Umwerfend, intensiv und überraschend gut. Wenn Tanz, dann Hier. Chapeu.

Die Sonne scheint mit voller Wucht auf das Dach und durch die Autofenster. Es sind bestimmt 30 Grad Celsius im Schatten, mindestens... 
Ich befinde mich auf der Rückbank eines dunkelblauen Seat Ibiza. Das Auto ist voll bis auf den letzten Platz. Hinten sitzt sogar einer mehr als vorgesehen. Manchmal ist so ein Vergehen die günstigste Option, man will denn Tag ja sinnvoll nutzen. 
Wir brausen mit rund hundert Sachen über die Landstraßen und durch die Dörfer unserer Gemeinde. Ab Mittag bis in den späten Nachmittag hinein, haben wir unsere Zeit am See verbracht. Genauer gesagt an unserem persönlichen Crew-Sommer-Hotspot, für die heißen Tage im Jahr.
Ich schaue aus dem Fenster und genieße den Anblick der Alleen und das Rot der Abendsonne. Mit meiner Hand taste ich zu meiner rechten und umschließe entschlossen ihre Finger. Es fühlt sich gut an sie neben mir zu spüren, sie an meiner Seite zu wissen. Ich genieße ihre Nähe, drücke sanft ihre Hand und flüstere ihr einige liebevolle Worte ins Ohr. Sie gibt mir einen Kuss und bettet ihren Kopf an meine Schulter.
Ein plötzlicher Ruck reißt mich ein wenig aus der gefühlten Zweisamkeit. Ich realisiere schlagartig das wir unser Ziel erreicht haben. Unser Fahrer kommentiert: Willkommen im Feld Freunde, willkommen Zuhaus.

Ich öffne die Autotür und betrete leichtfüßig den Schotterweg. Ich Strecke mich einmal ordentlich durch und schon vernehme ich den Geruch von Freiheit in meiner Nase.
Wo könnte man besser einen langen und erfüllten Sommertag ausklingen lassen, wenn nicht im Feld?

DJ Feldweg ist ein Macher und Kenner mit einem vorzüglichen Geschmack. In seinem Set für KataHaifisch gibt er sich Facettenreich, doch wer aufmerksam hinhört, erkennt die Gemeinsamkeiten der Songs und Musikstücke. 
Gemeinschaftlich-musikalische Vibes gibt es für DJ Feldweg neben den Auftritten vor Publikum, auch inmitten des mittelhessischen Kollektivs Spulenigel. Gemeinsam, mit vielen unterschiedlichen Gesichtern, Meinungen und Charakteren, spaßt es doch am meisten.

Born in 1989 in Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam, Bach was taught to play the piano when he was eight years old. Later on he took academic piano lessons at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, graduated the Intermediate Long-term program in 2009 and achieved the Piano Bachelor's degree in 2014. Bach has been playing the piano for more than 10 years now and this impressive sound has had a big influence on his music career ever since he started playing. He then discovered his passion of composing music and started his own project ‘B.A.X.’ at the age of 18. He has spent a lot of time to do research about electronic music and composed his first New Age / Ambient works.

He stepped into the movie filmscore in 2010 and started composing many filmscore for several short films, later on composing filmscore for Vietnamese feature movies from 2014.

He started the DJ career since 2012 with Heart Beat Saigon and since 2016 with HRBR (Harbour Saigon). Through many years of cultivation, the color of his Deep House music has gradually become an unforgettable symbol, a color that melody and harmony are the main euphonious factor. On the dance floor, he develops the music in different angles that you never know what is interesting to expect next, his selection of tracks will make everyone crawl out of their shell, as the music becomes the cocoon.

From here on, he began to produce electronic music for his own dance floor. In 2018, his first release Microcrystals EP was released on MNL label by Paul Hazendonk, the release has been miraculously praised by Paul himself as well as other big names. Also in this year, he then released his track Hallucination Rain in the Muak Sampler compilation on Muak Music label by Zaki, making him more recognizable in the world music scene.

In 2019, he established his new label Holy Grail Music, focusing on his passion for melodic electronic music. As he said, this imprint was a dream that he have cherished for years, an opportunity for him to gradually expand the music production with local artists as well as artists around the world.

For number 153 in the LWE Mix Series we welcome young Irish phenom, @rebukemusic.

Those who know, know; Rebūke's got one of the freshest and more original sound signatures in techno. Despite the lack of gigs in recent times, he's smashed it in 2020, with a list of production triumphs as long as your arm; a surefire remix of Fatboy Slim & Eats Everything's 'All the Ladies'; a return EP 'Dial Tone' on Dirtybird; an acclaimed re-rub of Human Resource's '90s classic 'Dominator'; a killer three-tracker on Drumcode titled 'Obscurity', before rounding out the year with 'Ultimate Distortion', his mammoth collaboration with Alan Fitzpatrick, which features in this mix.

Looking ahead to 2021, he’ll return to his Drumcode home base with a new EP ‘Wasp’ due in March, the next taste of his innovative take on techno. Two cuts from the EP feature on this mix.

Biography:
Winnipeg-based MMZ (aka Jeff Wills) first got the music bug in high school, while working at his brother’s music store. In those days, he DJ’d socials in his hometown of Sioux Lookout, Ontario. But it wasn’t until a transformative night in 1999 – at Guvernment, in Toronto – that Wills discovered the underground sounds that would form the “soundtrack to the rest of his life”. 
 
In 2005, after many years as a “spectator”, Wills decided to have a go at DJing. He fell in love. Over time, MMZ settled into his signature style of intense, eclectic, progressive techno mixes. 
 
In the fall of 2016, while at an Amsterdam Dance Event, Jeff and some close friends had an epiphany, and Institution was born. Today Institution’s goal is to promote the Winnipeg underground scene, support Canadian-based electronic music artists, and to connect with the international progressive community.

Techno enthusiast since 2007. The real interest to stand behind the decks came in 2015. So much good music is out there from talented producers and nobody is playing them. Every DJ has their own style, but they never played what I liked and that's why I decided to start my own career. My sound has a lot of variety between Techno, Tech House, Minimal and Melodic Techno. Originally based in Berlin. The City itself, which is well known for one of the capitals of electronic music, had a big influence in me and formed my taste in the music today. I Build up my sets, to give the audience a journey through sounds and emotions.

maltech is a Berlin-based DJ, dancer and the chief curator of @ditklingtjut. Music has always
played a major role in his life and since the age of 17, maltech’s taste has shifted more and more
towards electronic productions. After moving to Berlin in 2013 and getting involved in the local
scene, his love for House & Techno and the collective dance experience has only grown. With
every set he aims to create a unique, emotional journey for the listener.
Over the years maltech co-built DIT KLINGT JUT, a collective & platform that aims to unite
lovers of deep & melodic electronic dance music from around the world. His special interest lies
in the development of body-awareness, connection, self-nourishment & deep insight through
music and dance.
