In dieser aufgeheizten Stimmung fällt es mir schwer, mich auf meine eigentliche Aufgabe zu konzentrieren. Ich freue mich jetzt schon auf darauf mich später unter die Menge mischen zu können. Doch erstmal warten viele durstige Kehlen auf Nachschub. Ich schultere also den Kasten und dränge mich durch die Massen zur nächsten Bar. Dort wurde ich schon sehnlich erwartet. „Gut, dass du da bist. Ich mach mir Sorgen über den Biernachschub. Nach diesem Kasten und den anderen ist nur noch ein Kasten übrig.“ Brüllt mir der Barkeeper ins Ohr. Ich verstehe seine Aussage als Aufforderung meine Aufgabe etwas ernster zu nehmen. Um niemanden bei meiner ersten Veranstaltung zu enttäuschen, hetze ich Richtung Vorratsraum. Hier sieht es mit dem Biervorrat jedoch noch schlechter aus als an den Bars. Zwei Kollegen schnappen gerade die letzten Kästen und grinsen mich blöd an. 
Etwas verdutzt stehe ich für einige Sekunden in dem Bier leeren Raum. Dann kommt mir der Gedanke, dass es bei so einer großen Location mehrere Lager geben muss. Ich mache mich also auf die Suche. Jedoch komme ich durch die tanzende Meute nicht wirklich schnell voran. Es muss doch eine Möglichkeit geben schneller die Tanzfläche überqueren zu können. In diesem Moment wünsche ich mir, wie Tarzan an einer Liane quer durch die Halle schwingen zu können. Das wäre doch auch eine gute Showeinlage. Leider bringt mich diese Tagträumerei bei meinem Problem nicht wirklich voran. Dann komme ich auf die Idee die Katakomben zu nutzen. Das sollte auf jeden Fall schneller sein, als sich mühsam einen Weg durch die Leute zu bahnen. Da wird den Kollegen das Grinsen schon vergehen, wenn sie feststellen, dass ich überall vor ihnen bin.

Im Untergrund angekommen, erweist sich mein Plan doch nicht als so genial. Die Gänge unter der Veranstaltungsebene sind verschlungen und irreführend. Unglaublich, dass wir beim Betreten den Weg so intuitiv gefunden haben. Wobei, wenn ich mich recht entsinne, sind wir tatsächlich nur dem Licht gefolgt. Das haben die Leute von ComRa verdammt gut organisiert. Wenn sie doch auch nur den Biernachschub so gut durchdacht hätten. Gedankenverloren verliere ich mich weiter im Labyrinth.

Meine Odyssee zieht sich unerwartet in die Länge. Nach einer halben Stunde habe ich völlig die Orientierung verloren und ziehe auch eher unorthodoxe Methoden in Betracht. Vielleicht sollte ich tiefer in die Katakomben hinabsteigen, um weiter hinten einen anderen Weg nach oben zu finden. Ich gebe der nächsten Abbiegung noch eine Chance und atme verzweifelt tief durch. Wieder kommt mir nichts bekannt vor und ich beschließe meinen Plan B in die Tat umzusetzen. Ich gehe zurück zur nächsten Treppe, die nach unten führt und versuche mein Glück. Die Warnhinweise „Betreten für Unbefugte verboten“ ignoriere ich einfach. In meiner jetzigen Situation halte ich mich durchaus für befugt, die unteren Ebenen zu besuchen. Ich bin ja schließlich in einer wichtigen Mission unterwegs. Es geht darum die trockenen Kehlen der Gäste weiter mit flüssigen Köstlichkeiten zu versorgen. Da muss man auch mal über seinen Schatten springen und ungewöhnliche Wege gehen.  

Das dachte sich auch unser heutiger Gast Darksidevinyl. Nicht nur sein Name ist außergewöhnlich, sondern auch seine eigenen Produktionen. Die landen immer wieder in den Beatport Top 100 und stehen für qualitativ hochwertigen Sound. Genau das könnt ihr auch von seiner deep story erwarten.

Dead Violets Night es el nombre artístico de la DJ y productora fundadora de El Garaje de Frank. Un tema del proyecto turco de post-punk Rain To Dust sirvió para capturar en una imagen el sabor de las sesiones de la DJ francesa.
Originaria de Saboya, pero ya parte clave de la noche madrileña, Dead Violets Night hizo sus primeros pinitos musicales en el mundo del metal, siendo guitarrista de varias formaciones. Después, se enamoró de la electrónica y de la música oscura y cambió la guitarra por una mesa de mezclas. Desde El Garaje ha promovido la escena electrónica musical más arriesgada y ha asistido a toda clase de festivales de electrónica europeos. Aunque comenzó a pinchar a finales del año pasado, la pandemia le ha servido para dedicarse a los platos en cuerpo y alma y hacer una gran selección de EBM, acid, techno industrial y electro. Colabora mensualmente con la emisora francesa Radio Alto para las que graba podcasts de lo mejor de la electrónica oscura.
Sus primeras sesiones vieron la luz en el medio que ayudó a fundar teniendo una fantástica recepción internacionalmente y pronto le surgió alguna colaboración como con la plataforma Zyrcadian Editions, Archaic, Diffuse Reality, Tracklistings, Herzblut y Elektropedia Analog Kollective. Debutó como DJ en la mítica sala Specka, donde actúa como residente en las fiestas de Bizarro creadas por Nöle, y ha actuado también en el Killing Time de Valencia, Melting Pot Radio, en el Liège New Wave Festival y el 8K. Ha pinchado también en el concierto de Ultra Sunn, que ayudó a organizar. Amante de la oscuridad y de las sesiones dinámicas y eclécticas, siempre podrás encontrar algo de EBM y acid en sus mezclas realizadas enteramente con vinilo. Sin dudas, nos quedan muchas noches de violetas muertas por delante. 

Dead Violets Night is the stage name of the DJ and producer who founded El Garaje de Frank. A track by the Turkish post-punk project Rain To Dust served to capture the flavour of the French DJ's sessions in an image.

Her debut as DJ was in the legendary club Specka, and she has showed her skills at Killing Time in Valencia, Melting Pot Radio, Liège New Wave Festival and 8K. She has also DJed after Ultra Sunn’s concert in Madrid, an event where she also worked as a promoter. A lover of darkness and dynamic, eclectic sets, you can always find some EBM and acid in her vinyl-only mixes. Without a doubt, there are plenty of dead violet nights ahead of us.

Angelo Mike is a DJ, music producer, activist, and promoter whose contribution to the development of the Polish club scene is hard to overestimate. Acting almost from the beginning of the emerging club culture in our country, he immediately brought the musical and organizational standards he had adopted from European clubs to the challenging Polish scene after the transformation period. His actions, music, and performances have earned him the status of an undisputed icon of Polish clubbing, and despite the passage of time and changing musical trends, he continues to actively work as a DJ. His eclectic mixes of techno, disco, house, and his beloved progressive sound grace club and festival stages throughout the country. Through his dedication and passion for music, he gains the respect of successive generations of partygoers, and his sets are regarded as extraordinary narratives, meticulously crafted in every detail.

Marcelo Malta, aka “MLTX” began his career in music at a very young age, guided by his father, a multi-instrumentalist, who put him in contact with harmonies and rhythms. Drummer and Musician, he was part of Hardcore, Punk Rock, and Heavy Metal authorial bands, expanding his feeling and relationship with different rhythms, sounds & melodies. In 2015 he started attending big festivals and parties, developing a fondness for Techno and listening to renowned names, which influenced his musical taste, until during the pandemic, a friend @brml1 encouraged him to start DJing, since then he has been playing at parties, podcasts and listening incessantly. With an ongoing label project, MLTX DJ sets emerge in a #fusiontechno strand, a mix of Techno & Indie Dance / Dark Disco tracks, performing strong and dark rhythms driving the melody through the beats like an electronic drummer.

🌞 There is a perfect time at @hive-zurich tanzstube... when the first sun rays start getting their way through the coloured windows... add some smoke and a room packed with clubbers dancing out of their bodies... the perfect moment! 🤸🏾‍♀️

The set was a journey through different genres starting with happy rolling tech-house, moving to a more bassy-minimal-Victor Ruiz influenced section... reaching the sunrise moment with three lovely vocal tracks that blended into each other smooooothly creating a big MOMENT... emotive, melancholic and powerful... to finally end with a shake of minimal tech and indie which definitely created a very special groove to close a beautiful morning :) 

Just a bunch of electronic music genres mixed with love....

Marcelo Malta, aka “MLTX” began his career in music at a very young age, guided by his father, a multi-instrumentalist, who put him in contact with harmonies and rhythms. Drummer and Musician, he was part of Hardcore, Punk Rock, and Heavy Metal authorial bands, expanding his feeling and relationship with different rhythms, sounds & melodies. In 2015 he started attending big festivals and parties, developing a fondness for Techno and listening to renowned names, which influenced his musical taste, until during the pandemic, a friend @brml1 encouraged him to start DJing, since then he has been playing at parties, podcasts and listening incessantly. With an ongoing label project, MLTX DJ sets emerge in a #fusiontechno strand, a mix of Techno & Indie Dance / Dark Disco tracks, performing strong and dark rhythms driving the melody through the beats like an electronic drummer.
