6075.5 Miles is the distance between my home city and Guadalajara (Mexico), where Arkadiusz is currently living. I first discovered his podcasts 3 years ago and immediately loved his mixing storytelling-style. Besides - Not only he delivered quality mixes over the past years (not being afraid to step out of his routine) but we also share a common taste for hypnotic deep vibes. No wonder I felt more than pleased &amp; excited when he suggested we’d craft something special together.
This mix was pretty much a challenge as I wanted both to include some artists i like a lot &amp; wanted to try some things out...Without little risks, there’s no real moving forward in Life. That’s what I believe. Hope you’ll enjoy it!

6075,5 Meilen liegen zwischen meiner Heimatstadt und Guadalajara in Mexiko, wo Arkadiusz
derzeit lebt. Vor ca. 3 Jahren habe ich zum ersten Mal einen Podcast von ihm gehört und mich dabei sofort in seine Art des Mixens verliebt und in die Geschichten die er damit erzählt.    
Imponiert hat mir ebenso die gleichbleibend hohe Qualität seiner Mixe in den letzten Jahren (ohne das bei ihm Routine einkehrt). Wir teilen beide eine gemeinsame Vorliebe für düstere und hypnotischere Stimmungen. Es ist also kein Wunder das mich seine Anfrage sehr gefreut hat und ich es als sehr aufregend empfand mit ihm etwas besonderes zu erschaffen.
Dieser Mix war eine große Herausforderung für mich, denn ich wollte auch ein paar meiner Lieblingskünstler dabei haben und auch ein paar Sachen ausprobieren. Ich glaube wenn man nicht auch mal dazu bereit ist etwas zu riskieren, dann kommt man nicht voran im Leben, ich hoffe es gefällt Euch und Ihr werdet es genießen!
Vielen Dank an alle beteiligten Künstler für ihr Vertrauen - Ein spezieller Dank an Fables für seine Ohren und seine Güte und Arkadiusz für seine Nachsicht mit mir und danke an das Team von Afterhour Sounds.

wo Brazilian artists, Tabbi (from São Paulo) and Leca (from Florianópolis), met in New York, thousands of miles from home, yet instantly recognized something familiar — the pulse of Brazilian soul beating in their hearts. Coming from opposite ends of the country, each carried her own accent, memories, and unique cultural repertoire.

What began as a simple musical exchange soon became something greater: the start of a true friendship and an artistic partnership that now binds us forever.

During the creation of Tom da Raiz, we realized we were composing more than just a song. We were weaving our stories together, translating into sounds and words what it means to be a woman, an artist, and a Brazilian living far from Brazil. This track is an intimate manifesto about belonging, the courage to follow one’s own path, and the resilience needed to keep the essence alive despite distance and challenges.

The vocal-poem, written in Portuguese, speaks of resistance, strength, and courage — an open letter to all women who, like us, hold on to their dreams and identities, even when the world seems to demand they bend:

- O rio não apressa o encontro com o mar

Each verse is a reminder that there is strength in silence, beauty in waiting, and freedom in staying true to yourself. It’s about finding balance between longing and freedom, between memory and future.

The name Tom da Raiz is a tribute to what shapes and sustains us. It represents our origins, our stories, and the pride of being who we are. It’s the echo of our roots resonating, even oceans away, reminding us that everything essential remains.

How is September treating you so far? We love this month. The season changes slowly on our side of the world. The summer ends. And even though we will soon swap the heat and sunshine for cold and rain, we find comfort in this month. As if we can reset, get to work, move mountains, change the world. 

Right?

Before you a set that we have been looking forward to the first part of this year. We have asked our good friend Concret to close the main stage of The Monastery on the Sunday. A big honour that we granted this remarkable musician for his impeccable sound. 

On the day itself it all seemed promising. 
He was ready.
We were ready.
But as the misfortune struck, we had to reduce the sound. 

The recording finally gives the artist the sound he deserves. Get in a studio, put on your best headphones, because this set is absolutely and without a shadow of a doubt one of the best sets recorded at The Monastery.

Na, geht es Euch allen gut? Wir hoffen doch… 
Der Sommer neigt sich nun langsam dem Ende zu und wir begeben uns Richtung Herbst. 

Zeit die Club-Saison zu eröffnen.

Ein grandioses Sommerabschluss- und Jubiläumsset liegt hinter uns. Ein Set welches sich gewaschen hat und vor allem mal eine etwas andere Richtung als gewohnt eingeschlagen hat. Lieber @gabriel-vitel, uns fehlen immer noch die Worte - einfach nur: Geil!!! Tausend Dank und auf ein baldiges Treffen mit viel Kaffee und Kuchen...

So, und nu? Genau!!!
Auf zu neuen Ufern… 

Wir freuen uns sehr David „Guzy“ an unserer frisch gedeckten Kaffeetafel begrüßen zu dürfen. Nach einem netten Plausch, mit deliziösem Haselnussschnaps (danke an dieser Stelle an den Importeur Elektro Uwe), im Klunkerkranich in Berlin, und einigen entspannten Mails im Anschluss, hat der gute Mann für uns etwas richtig  feines selektiert. Guzy ist jemand bei dem  man den Eindruck hat, dass er Musik durch und durch lebt. 
Ständig auf Achse sein und dabei auch noch produzieren steht bei ihm scheinbar an erster Stelle. Wir glauben mit an Sicherheit grenzender Wahrscheinlichkeit zu wissen, dass man von diesem ungemein sympathischen Herrn in Zukunft noch sehr viel hören wird. Wir drücken ihm nach Kräften die Daumen, auf dass das alles so klappt, wie er es sich wünscht.

Lieber David, danke das Du Dir die Zeit genommen hast. 
Wir hoffen auf ein baldiges Wiedersehen und verbleiben mit herzlichen Grüßen!
