Ich atme tief durch und versuche meine Gedanken zu ordnen. Vielleicht gibt es für alles eine einfache Erklärung. Ich werde einfach später Lighter von meiner Entdeckung berichten, er wird mir bestimmt Licht in diese Angelegenheit bringen können. Wichtig ist jetzt aus diesem Gewölbe wieder herauszukommen. Getrieben durch den Adrenalinschub der letzten Minuten bewege ich mich wie ein Gepard durch die engen Gänge und Korridore bis ich wieder bei der Tür bin, die mich auf dem Hinweg mit ihrer Warnung nicht aufhalten konnte. Ich erwische mich dabei, wie ich mir wünsche diese Tür nie durchquert zu haben.
Wenigen Minuten später bin ich wieder in der riesigen Halle der Kathedrale. Der Rave läuft weiter auf Hochtouren und die Menge hat sich bereits in Ekstase getanzt. Die Körper zucken unkontrolliert über die Tanzfläche und kein Fuß steht still. Alles ist in Bewegung und stampft unablässig zum pulsierenden Sound, der aus den Boxen gedrückt kommt. Ich verspüre eine ungeheure Energie. Getrieben durch den Treibstoff Musik und durch Glückshormone gehen die Tänzer an ihre körperlichen Grenzen und tanzen sich in einen Rausch. Diese einzigartige Atmosphäre saugt mich zog artig auf und verschlingt mich innerhalb von Sekunden. Ich schmeiße mich voller Freude in die Menge und lasse mich treiben. Durch die geschlossenen Augen dringen bunte Farben und ich verliere mich in einem Meer aus Lichtern, bis plötzlich durch eine grobe Berührung aus meiner Glückseligkeit gerissen werde. 

Lighter zieht mich zur Seite und sieht mich scharf an. „Wo warst du die ganze Zeit gewesen? Die Bars benötigen dringend Nachschub! Ich weiß die Musik ist unglaublich gut, aber tanzen musst du auf später verschieben! Siehst du dahinten die eiserne Tür. Hier ist der Schlüssel und jetzt hol Bier.“ Ehe ich etwas erwidern konnte, schubst mich Lighter leicht in die Richtung der Menge und verschwindet in der Menge. Dabei habe ich doch noch so viele Fragen…

Pleased to share my recording of the opening of this beautiful new treasure of Ibiza. Akasha opened its doors two weeks ago and gave me the privilege to serenade this acoustic super gem. ⁣

Unsere Nr. 235 kommt heute von einem international bekannten DJ und Producer, welchen ich seit einer geraumen Zeit aufmerksam verfolge. Die Rede ist von dem in Toronto wohnhaften Mustafa Ismaeel. Geboren im Irak, aufgewachsen in Indien und gereift in Kanada… interkulturelle Kompetenzen hat dieser Mann definitiv in seinem alles andere als linearen Leben erworben. Nicht ohne Grund hat seine Biographie einen starken Einfluss auf seinen einzigartigen Musikstil genommen. Er selber beschreibt dies mit dem Ausloten und der Neudefinition von Grenzen. Grenzen denen er selber immer wieder aufs Neue ausgesetzt war. Und Grenzen, die er selber für sich gestalten musste.  

Das von Ihnen eingespielte Set ist eine spannende ‚afterhoureske‘ Reise ins Dickicht der melodischen, hypnotischen und teils verspielten elektronischen Musik. Angereichert mit einer Menge an Instrumental- und Vocalpassagen, verleiht er der Aufnahme einen samtweichen und vor allem sonnigen Charakter voll des positiven Gefühls. Etwas, was ich in der aktuell unsicheren Zeit gut gebrauchen kann und mich tatsächlich mit einem guten Gefühl nach dem Hören entlässt. Neben all des positiven Charakters vergisst er aber nicht die gehörige Portion an Tiefgang in seinem Set zu implementieren. Dadurch hält er gewagt, aber gekonnt, die Waage zwischen Leichtigkeit und Nachdenklichkeit. 

Schnallt euch an… Ich kann mich nur wiederholen, aber es erwartet euch eine Reise durch verspielte und hypnothische Felder, die wie gemacht für eine Afterhour sind….seid gespannt.

Interview:

What are your musical influences? What is your musical background?

My musical influences are a quite broad range of genres and artists, but
i also realize that there is many similarities and patterns that are
shared between them. For me i like meaningful music, it can be anything
from minimal house to progressive.

My background in music was mainly vocals when i was a young kid, and
then in the mid teenager years i started playing acoustic guitar and
hand drums. I was always a music collector and lover of different
somewhat underground genres like dub reggae, Indie, Hip Hop and then
elctronic music.

What makes good “afterhour”?

For me a good afterhour is about the vibe, the people and the purity and
consistency of the sound. Solid groovy sound that is somewhat minimal
and comfortable to the ears. Storytelling for an emotionally intelligent
setting.

Do you have any thoughts you would like to share about your set?

This is the first studio recorded podcast I’m putting out after more
than a year. it took me a while to make one due to traveling and studio
work so im happy to be finaly sharing this with my listeners. Hope you
enjoy this groovy afterhour journey.

We're happy to present another up-and-coming artist who appeared on our radars thanks to her fantastic release on a Earthly Delights earlier this year. Halia is a French music producer and Dj based in London and her drink of choice is the Dirty Martini!

Halia producer career couldn't have started better as her debut releases directly cruised the top of Beatport Organic House charts.

She started her journey with music at an early age through a classical education while her influences evolved following the places she explored.Travelling and living across Europe, China, the US, the Middle East and Brazil, she was fascinated by the cultures and colorful sounds she discovered during her journey.

Through melodic soundscapes, traditional live instruments, groovy organic percussions and ethereal vocals, she invites her listeners to close their eyes and travel to distant lands.

One month ago I played a set in front of an absolutely magical crowd. The @Gravity-tn community really created a fantasy land full of good vibes and smiles. 

I had the chance to discover some more uptempo and melodic sounds which was super fun to me! I hope you'll ressonate with this journey as much as I did! Many thanks to Gravity and the tunisian crowd for this magical moment!

Hello friends! Here is the recording of my very first set at Stereo Montréal

A place that truly feels like (((home))) 

A room that means so much to many of us and that sparks wonders for those who haven't been yet. A space where we can be free, all together. A spaceship that uses vibrations to bend space and time. A temple where music becomes alive.

It was an honour to have the chance to play in this room for 11 hours to the most amazing group of humans. It's been a dream of mine for so many years to have the chance to play there and it's one of most meaningful moments I ever lived. Stars were aligned, the collective energy was truly beautiful and I am happy to be able to share with you the soundtrack of that night. 

Thanks to all the @stereonightclub team for the incredible work to co-create such a sacred space for music. 

A special thanks to Luc for the cosmic visuals during the night.

And thanks to all of you family and friends who joined the journey.
