It's sad that children will only see our beautiful world in pictures when corporations are done destroying it

My friend Louie died recently. We played together in a band called The Loose Diamonds. He was a lovely man and a living work of art.

Loose diamonds in the sky

There was a man from Harahan who like an angel did sing
And he sure knew just how to pop a guitar string 
And though he often played the clown 
When the crowds would gather ‘round
Those in the know know that Louie was a king

It was reputed that he’d written the perfect song
A crystal blue confection coming in at 2 minutes and 27 seconds long
But the world heeded not
Rock n roll was an afterthought 
The king had left long before his kingdom had come

He once went to Whole Foods because he was not feeling well
He returned with five jars of pickles and a story to tell
The hippie cashier it seems 
Had seen his death in her dreams 
So we all laughed and raised five jars of pickle juice to his health

Sure, maybe he all wasn’t saintly and perfect 
But I tend to think the rock n roll was worth it
He had some dirty parts
He left some haunted hearts
But who amongst us isn’t tainted in this circus?

What the world was like when the food wouldn't grow

So many are waiting for somebody else
To wake up and fix the mess that was made
Who cares if the children are hungry and poor
You had to give birth since clinics locked doors
Who cares if the storms, the fires and drought
Destroyed their homes and made them afraid
The rich need more money, corporations say,
"Climate change is here to stay."

The wars, the bombs, refugees fleeing
Leaving their family by the side of the road
Thank God it isn't us, we say
Fox News tells us every night and day
We think we are safe if truth be told
God will save the religious right
Leave all others out in the cold
Stupidity has the largest price to pay

When the bees are gone and the birds stop singing
When the oceans are dead, only trash on the beach
We sucked out the life the world had to give
Only corpses of the dead now beneath our reach
We struggle to breathe, no healthcare for all
No backyards to play in, fading stars in the sky

The Turn Of Leaves

This instrumental was created in the Spirit of the winter holidays. We tried to "capture" the "essences of the seasons..." from the cosmic wonder like shooting stars dancing across the night skies... to things we felt in the great outdoors from previous travels in Europe at various Kristkindle Markets, sipping a warm mug of gluhwein and warm freshly roasted chestnuts, as well as some of the overwhelming choices... the "game" of choosing a meaningful gift for the special folks in our lives from amongst the lovely assortment of crafts available at these delightful town center markets. We hope if you've never been, you get the opportunity to go to Europe to enjoy the "holiday magic..." on a scale we'd not experienced before... nor since that "exploration!" Until then, we hope this brings a little holiday cheer your way, perhaps close your eyes and picture yourselves amongst the delightful holiday smells and scenes to uplift your Spirit!

Again, we caution listeners to not drive or operate machinery while listening to our music done in a HZ unlike what most radio stations play... and to listen through headphones at a lower volume than you normally listen to most of your music, for optimum effect. Enjoy!

I think this piece is so deep. one of the most successful of 2020 in terms of experimentation. it was born from a cubase session done by chance, and when I resumed the original idea I was not very convinced .. but I continued looking for solutions and the final result gave me full satisfaction. it was a vertical descent into one's cave to bring you light. a truly cathartic acoustic experience for me.

My music pieces are all piano improvisations expressing emotions. It is music telling stories without the words. In my earIy years I sang and played piano in piano bars or fronted bands  I've been composing, teaching and performing most of my life.  I'm getting old(er) now 😔 but the great thing about creating music is it gets better the longer you play, and you have more to write about! 

This is what I leave of me to my generations to come who wonder where their desire to make music comes from. My mother also played. I learned recently that my grandmother and great grandmother were both accomplished pianists when they were young. My great grandmother sang and danced in minstrel shows in the early 1900's. I know have great-grandchildren. They will know who I am through my music. When I am gone my music will still be here. What a wonderful thought!
