This is so beautiful. I love the breathy flute against the keyboard instruments.  

A very emotinal work but still very cozy and suitable for a movie drama.

When I wrote this song, I had a female voice mind. I sent it to Nat Daniels and asked her if she was interested in singing it.  Long story short, both Nat and Craig got their creative juices flowing and came up with this beautiful rendition of the song. Ive always admired their work and it was a privilege to be able to do this with them. I hope you all like it!

Recorded last year my first notes on this track when mixed started with the word 'madness'.
Somewhat refined by editing the structure is ABCBDBEBB...
'B' could represent both bridge and breakdown...the heart of the piece and the initial musings on a alto sax/flute riff that sort of drifted off into improvised ramblings.
Other sections feature flute solo, melodica/synth, distorted clarinet and soprano sax in celtic mode and rumbling triple tongued bass-effect alto sax.
Behind it all (somewhere) is a chugging thai violin. 
Still somewhat crazy.

Stomp And Reel Breakdown

This piece was written for a woman I know. We all have mountains to climb to overcome the effects of mistakes we made that have consequences. Often, no matter how much we try we can't overcome them because we don't have the necessary tools to enable that change. I know that. One of the hardest things to overcome is drug addiction. Just wanting to overcome it is not enough, or addicts everywhere would be able to get clean. If we don't have the right people in our lives, nothing changes, either, because they are unable to teach you what you need to know. Loving someone isn't enough and being loved by someone isn't enough, either, because until you are able to understand the law of cause and effect you won't understand why you ended up in this place. It is the same in any situation you can't overcome. Is this her turning point? I don't know. She doesn't understand yet why it happened. I will help her if she lets me. She can be angry, it is okay. I have been there. I am still there. But after 35 years of study I understand why I am here. But the fact is - I AM still here. She has to make a choice. Am I being too hard saying she will probably fail if she doesn't find a different way of seeing things? Do I sound arrogant saying I can help her if she lets me? No, just experienced. It is a long and painful road digging into your pwn psyche. We make excuses for ourselves. It isn't our fault, we say. But it is our fault and you can't overcome it alone. By helping her I make the cause that will have the effect of helping me,too. Call me when you are ready.

Free Spirit

My music pieces are all piano improvisations expressing emotions. It is music telling stories without the words. In my earIy years I sang and played piano in piano bars or fronted bands of different styles, from country to heavy metal and to 40. I've been composing, teaching and performing most of my life.  I'm getting old(er) now 😔 but the great thing about creating music is it gets better the longer you play, and you have more to write about! 

This is what I leave of me to my generations to come who wonder where their desire to make music comes from. My mother, grandmother and great grandmother were both accomplished pianists when they were young. My son is also exceptional.  My great grandmother and gr grandfather sang and danced in minstrel shows (vaudeville) in the early 1900's. Kids today have no idea what life was like before moving pictures.  I now have great-grandchildren. They will know who I am through my music. When I am gone my music will still be here. What a wonderful thought!
