DJ Functionist is a club and radio DJ, music producer and remixer. He is the mastermind behind the legendary daily (Mon - Fri) mixshow FM4 Unlimited.
His musical universe is defined by Funk in all modern variations. His claim is to create a unique, live musical mixture. Radio is the media for Functionist's creative output since 1992, whether as a young radio pirate or later with FM4. In Summer 2005 his brainchild the daily mixshow Unlimited is realised.

Richard Ulmer is an award-winning composer, songwriter, music producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Vienna. His compositions and songs navigate between neo-classical piano music, ambient, and handmade indie pop.

He spent his formative years playing classical piano. Throughout the years, he auto-didactically learned how to sing and play various instruments. Since the age of thirteen, Ulmer has written music, explored different genres and learned how to record music. 

His professional music career he started as a composer at Sony Music Publishing Berlin. At that time he toured and recorded extensively with his former bands. A number of his songs were released by Sony Music Austria, Warner Music Germany and Universal Music Germany, achieved heavy rotation on major radio stations and entered the charts in Austria and Germany. 

Ulmer’s music was also used for commercials and TV-trailers including the CBS mystery series ‘Ghost Whisperer’ and the United Nations climate change campaign ‘Seal the Deal!’. In recent years he composed and produced music for national and international brands. Coca-Cola commissioned him to reinterpret the song ‘Taste The Feeling’ for its 90th anniversary in Austria.

In 2020 he returned to his piano-playing roots, rediscovered his love for recording analog musical instruments and voices, and started releasing music on his label Quiet Habit®. His musical path has taken many turns, but his classical and indie-pop roots still shape his work.

Started 1995 as a DJ, composer and performer of dark, atmospheric and experimental electronic music under various monikers. 1997 first vinyl release “Farkhülse Fist” under the pseudonym AB-HINC on Widerstand Records. Since 2011 contributions to various remix releases under the moniker OPCION. Appearances at selected festivals and events, such as Ars Electronica, Elevate, Interpenetration, Heart of Noise, Steirischer Herbst and KLUB MOOZAK. 
2015 release of the 12″ album “OPCION – MONOS/UИD” on GOD Records.
