"Inspired by my visit at the house of the American poet Robert Lax (1915-2000) on Patmos, Greece October 2015. Back home I started making random samples from Youtube and creating soundscapes. All loops are realtime and randomly put together. While doing this i got the test vinyl of the "Original Recordings" by CHI, that we made 30 years ago. To be released in 2016 by Astral Industries (UK). It felt like the circle was closed.

"My first ambient track ever was called Hopi (1983). This new soundscape closes with a Hopi message. The photo is a Hopi Angel (this is what i googled). The soundscape created itself. I was only putting it together. It all came random and easily.

"A collective of sounds and voices from around the world. You'll hear poetry by Robert Lax, a Bukovski reading by Tom Waits, samples of Sun Ra, Nikos Eliou (Patmos), Koos Derwort (CHI) the voice of Nelson Mandela, John Cage, Inayat Khan, Ram Dass and much, much more. Hope you'll like it".

previews. Mind over MIDI - Sensitiv | Lᴏɴᴛᴀɴᴏ Series

We are gladly introducing Kdema, a.k.a. Ani Zakareishvili, electronic music producer and dj, particularly interested in experimental/ambient sample based music. Based in Tbilisi, working on a variety of projects, actively composing in the fields of experimental music and performing at a variety of clubs. Currently Kdema is also producing original sounds and textures using a variety of sampling and digital techniques. Her sets are distinguished by precision and meticulous mixing, while her ambient and experimental compositions - with an enchanting, phantasmagorical sound.

@ligovskoi is an interdisciplinary artist duo based in Paris and Brussels. This podcast is a live recording. Over the past eight years Ligovskoï has been working on a diverse body of work guided by their interests in both visual art and music. Through the use of both sonic and visual media, they explore the metaphysical and poetical potential of minimal and abstract composition.  Their diverse body of work made of publications, A/V live performances, and multimedia installations invites the audience to a contemplating experience of deep recollection; both profound and hypnotic. Their cinematographic music takes the listener on a spacey and meditative journey toward introspection and inner bliss.

Samuel van Dijk is fascinated by contrasts. He explores the rough and the smooth, the loud and the quiet, the cerebral and the visceral in aquatic and naturalistic worlds where electro, techno, dub and ambient are blurred into one. This means that as both a producer and comprehensive live act, the Dutchman can take you from the furthest reaches of outer space to the depths of an oceanic abyss via crackling and frozen tundras. He does so under three aliases—VC-118A, Mohlao, Multicast Dynamics, but all are interconnected and related, with a modular approach to making and performing music meaning that a pumping breakbeat live-set can easily be transformed into an abstract sonic landscape by reducing and modifying elements, playing with textures and reworking structures.

Known by electronic music obsessives as one of electro’s shining lights, the last decade has seen van Dijk excel in both EP and LP format. His achingly beautiful melancholic moods and roomy, absorbing grooves are so fully realised that they work well beyond the club context and have come on top labels like Delsin, Frustrated Funk and Silent Season amongst others. They include highlights like the tension between raw machine sounds and ethereal pads that were explored on VC-118A’s underground classic Vaxna; Shift Register, which was made from largely one-take hardware jams with an instinctive and lo-fi finish, and the slow burning techno of Mohlao’s Landforms LP. Of course, his Multicast Dynamics album quadrilogy on Denovali also laid out immersive ambient worlds in truly escapist ways.

His thrilling sets of guttural and gritty techno, futuristic electro or cathartic ambient are hugely immersive and always emotional, and take him pumping out a peak time festival set, to twisting you inside out with an intimate session in a cosy club or playing an experimental soundscape set in more thought provoking settings with his own avant garde visuals. Whatever he does, though, dance floor experiences are rarely as immersive and emotional as those crafted by this multifaceted artist.
