The Sonorities Festival of Contemporary Music will present four events showcasing works selected from an international call for participation. This event builds on Sonorities' reputation for attracting high calibre composers and performers from all over the world to present exciting new music in Belfast. The concerts will be curated by composers in the School of Music and Sonic Arts and will focus on practices such as live-electronics, improvisation, multi-channel audio and audio-visual work amongst others. This year's Festival will reflect current practices and trends with the aim of bringing to Belfast the best music for adventurous ears!

Queen Street Studios (QSS) is a charitable group that was initiated in 1984 to facilitate a growing need for artist studio spaces in Northern Ireland. QSS Gallery provides a unique resource for visual artists, which showcases innovative & contemporary visual art in Belfast. The development and sustaining of community engaging projects is the primary aim of QSS Studios & Gallery.

Pain is a real-time broadcasting music project for electronic music for headphones, by and around Martina Buzzi, Nicolas Buzzi and Li Tavor. It is an environment for the presentation and discussion of possibilities created by music, through its own practice. The musical content presented in Pain is created especially for listening with headphones. Pain tries to create spatial proximity through the means of music, instead of physical closeness and to musically engage with the characteristics of the headphone, which creates an exceptional condition to our cognitive performance and our auditory perception.
