“For kids in the 1960s, the moment of inspiration was when they heard The Beatles for the first time,” Jacket Weather frontman Timothy Gassen says. “For me, when I heard Kraftwerk’s ‘Computer Love’ for the first time in 1981,I was hooked on making Pop sounds with Synths.” Gassen formed the pioneering Minimalist-Electro-Wave act Jacket Weather in 1982, mixing dual Casiotone keyboards, real bass and drums — with the desolate imagery of the Arizona desert. “I loved the contrast of Synths with human percussion and the sensual backdrop of the desert,” Gassen adds. “We thought the tension of my cold, distant vocals and Synths with the bombastic Rock rhythm section made our sound unique.” Described in their day as a cross between Joy Division and Young Marble Giants, with some Wall Of Voodoo mixed in, Jacket Weather etched their own Minimalistic sound. Staccato, expressionistic vocals accent the snake-like mingling of the Casiotones, while a steady dance pulse backs the eerie mixture. Equally enraptured with Euro Synth-Pop, English Post-Punk and Los Angeles Punk-Wave, Jacket Weather found inspiration from such opposites as Our Daughter’s Wedding to the Suburban Lawns for their Casiotone symphonies. The band recorded a cassette album in 1982, released a 6-song vinyl EP in 1983 (titled “When Shadows Move”) and also recorded a complete album that remained unreleased — until now. Original session producer Gassen (who has gone on to a career in indie rock and film) recently found all the master tapes — from early demos to the EP tapes, and the unreleased album — re-mastering and assembling them all into a collection that has been unheard for 30 years. It’s the dark and mysterious (Casio) tones of Jacket Weather that finally take center stage, three decades since they first drifted through the Arizona night.

Many mid '70s Jazz-Funk/Scat themes full of samples, breaks and Funky tunes. Merged in this record you'll find heavy Funk-Drama tracks devoted to 1970s Poliziottesco's grooves interfering with slow Lounge Funk arrangements feat. sweet Scat vocals. Great brass, a sure winner! Originally issued on Limited Edition serie for collectors, this gem has been repressed on HQ 180gr. vinyl with improved sound quality for the joy of audiophiles. Edition of 500 copies.

This is Silvano Chimenti/Romano Rizzati (alias Walter Rizzati) I GRES Vol.1, a sought-after monster Funky Breaks Library famous the track "Restless" made famous by DJ Leacy, and containing other dope Breaks and beats. A really great Funk Library gem and absolutely Rare as at the time these sonor releases were made on limited pressings only and not sold to the public. Vol.1 of 3, this is surely the best I GRES of the serie. Laminated front cover, Killer!

The Aus Decline, came from the town of Pavia in 1981, and were part of the big italian New Wave scene of early 80s. Their sound is a great example of crude and intense after-Punk with Dark suggestions. The band was compiled in "First Relation", the holy grail of the Italian Wave and Post-Punk scene of early Eighties including Lisfrank, F:A.R., Dark Tales and many more. Twenty years later, the band released a cd with the big part of their music production "Retrospettiva", an anthology that received great reviews on the main music magazines and blogs.

THE BIG GAME is an exciting work full-to-bursting with many rich, satisfying themes, and in a surprising variety of moods and style. Eleh's influential Radiant Intervals I, originally released on CD/LP in 2010, is a meticulously nuanced, restrained exploration of the rhythmic and harmonic relationships inherent in pure analog frequencies using a blend of intuitive and mathematically based tunings. Dense patterns of sound slowly unravel and are woven together again in new ways while harmonics hover and shift overhead. Radiant Intervals is a purely analog recording, made with a Serge Modular system, Mini Moog, Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 and a Pro-One.

Vergers is Davachi's third full-length release following Barons Court (2015, Students of Decay) and Dominions (2016, JAZ Records), and her second appearance with Important Records following 2014's August Harp cassette on the Cassauna imprint. 

In this work, she meditates on a single electronic instrument, the EMS Synthi 100 synthesizer, while also weaving sparse acoustic elements – her own voice and violin – into a series of three long-form, muted gestures.

Elements of distance and alienation are certainly at play in the textural quality of these compositions, a feeling that is further defined by track titles that reference the spirit world and an album title that calls to mind the solitary tasks of the church orderly.

The record opens with the aptly titled, Gentle So Gentle, a side-long movement that harkens the glacial character of Davachi's previous efforts. Ghosts And All and In Staying suggest a more disjointed path, with the latter culminating in a subtly dissonant dirge that leaves little absolve between the organic, the artificial, and the impermanent.
