Je connais une ronce ingrate
qui a fait cette fleur,
une rose rouge comme il y en a peu.
Si tu l'acceptes, elle est à toi.
Elle seule est digne de vos yeux
Elle seule égale ton rayonnement,
c'est pourquoi il n'y en a pas deux,
palpitant comme un cœur qui bat.
Je te l'offre et plus encore, si tu veux,
tout l'amour que je ressens pour toi,
le meilleur que j'ai.
Oh ! Prends-le, je t'en prie, et dis-toi
que ton refus me tarira.
Je serai plus qu'un buisson épineux
où l'on n'ose pas mettre les doigts,
