Ghost

After receiving so much hype around the release of their recent single, Wet My Tongue, Danish electro-pop duo going by the name of Feel Freeze are set to break waves in the UK whilst continuing their successful rise back in Denmark. Scandinavian music is a treasure trove for new talent and Feel Freeze are the perfect example of this, following in the footsteps of the likes of The Knife and Lykke Li- there are big things coming for this dreamy pop pair. The duo consisting of Mathias Vinther Liholt and Raymonde Gaunoux have received praise for their memorable live performances, supporting the likes of Thomas Dybdahl and Cymbals Eat Guitars. 

Their latest single, Give Me Your Heart, is a Work Drugs-esque indie pop track, with a touch of glo-fi. Whilst the piece takes a different turn to their previous single, it completely confirmed that Feel Freeze’s spectre of sound is wide and varied, with Summer Heart sonic similarities. Lyrically, the track gives out wonderfully uplifting, feel good vibes – with the lyrics “You’re not asleep, you’re deeply awake” guaranteed to be stuck in your brain all day. 

Give Me Your Heart will be released via Swedish label Icons Creating Evil Art.

Talking

This is a protest song. 

The night of the election felt like a bad dream. Like something very dark inside humanity was being revealed. The following morning as I boarded a ferry, the air heavy with grief, I couldn’t help but feel something had died — a hope of our future perhaps. Everyone wore black, silently facing forward. It was bone chilling in New York that day. The feeling of a death permeated the air as if we were all going to a funeral.

So I wrote this song.

It is a song about not giving up hope for the upward movement of humanity as a whole. We are stronger together than separate. In this time, I fear for the planet with this change of guard to Donald Trump President-Elect and in the words of Gloria Steinem, “I’m not going to disobey the law, but I’m not going to pretend he represents me.”
