Well it's not all from London I know, but like many a scene, London has often been a processing point for what's being generated elsewhere. In this case, very much courtesy of Frankfurt, Detroit, Rotterdam, New York and of course the UK itself. This is a fairly close recreation of the regular sets I played at VFM, Dead By Dawn, Eurobeat 2000, Institute Of Goa, Helter Skelter and various squat parties (Spiral Tribe, Bedlam) in and around London. Hard banging techno leading up to some of the decent first instances of gabba.  It's at a point where things were quickly splintering off from the highly successful UK Rave Hardcore sound of 92 and reconnecting with a harder updated version of what had previously been coming out of Detroit, Brooklyn, Belgium and Holland around 89/90/91. Looking back, though it seemed such a very separate sound from breakbeat hardcore, with the distance of time they were both very much shades of the same rave. Ah the memories….

Warlock - The Hard Sound Of London 1992-1994

The UK techno subculture, which centres on techno music, includes a diverse array of ideologies, fashions and forms of expression, which can also include visual art, dance, literature and film. This subculture often exhibits the promotion of individual freedom.

The techno original subculture emerged in the United States, namely Detroit in the 1980's, quickly spreading to the United Kingdom. At the turn of millennium, the subculture began to diversify, which led to the proliferation of factions such as minimal, schranz and many others. 

But 2013 saw the original techno sound mutate into an even more powerful form with many new underground stars emerging including artists such as Tuomas Rantanen, Gabeen, Luis Ruiz and old favourites brushing up their sound such as Oscar Mularo, The Anxious, Reeko and Space DJz. Clean, clear and modern production with dirty, dark and punishing rhythms.

Original UK techno soldier Mark EG brings our attention to this 'second wave' of techno on a brand new mix, showcasing mainly new artists - quite obviously nodding to the punk era of the 70's, where a similar musical development took place.

If youve been ANYWHERE near the dirty end of techno in the past 20 years, you may know the name.
If you've been anywhere near a UK or European festival in the last 10 years, its more than likely you know the name.
BUT - If you've had any dealing with the underground hardcore techno scene since its conception, then you DEFINITLY know the name.

REWIND.

Keeping it simple, The Dj Producer 1st "came into relevance" September 11th 1992.
At the age of 18, Luke was already Resident for the south west of England "Universe" organization, playing the sped up, rave infused, breakbeat bangers
of the time. But on this night they were to import a European hard techno dj, something rarely seen at the time in UK events. Luke saw this as an opportunity
to play a more techno orientated set that night, something he had never done before, and as resident felt obliged just to "make the German guy feel comfortable".
A move, that if the public disliked, Luke may never have gone down that path again.........as it turns out, it was that set that put The Dj Producer on the map, and
from that day forward proclaimed himself "a hardcore techno dj (which at the time you could count the amount in UK on one hand). That proclamation in 2013 remains.
And so do the breakbeats ;)

Luke has been in the game long enough & strong enough to have played pretty much EVERY relevant underground organisation there is to play for.
over 20 years in over 20 countries. damn straight. But Luke's motivation is beyond purely clocking miles, or scratching notches on bedposts.
His passion for music stems way, way back, and his hunt for the elusive & exclusive cuts made him what he is, couple this with a devastating mixing technique
that rivals most computers & his overkeen spidey sense to adapt to the dancefloors demands, and you have one of the most enthralling jocks ever to emerge from the UK's
murky underground depths........The music may be filthy, but Luke understands its every nuance intimately, and his performances demonstrate this....control freakery within chaos
--- and no sync button in sight :)
