Coming in hot on our next SOT64 mix we present: Vudu

After establishing a strong presence within Otepoti’s underground, VUDU now resides in Aotearoa's bass capital, Otautahi, to further develop his production skills and embrace the local culture. Through running a weekly radio slot on RDU 98.5fm which promotes 100% Kiwi electronica (The Green Room), VUDU has a wide reach within the underground which shows through many of his selections. 
 
With multiple festival slots under his belt and having played alongside artists such as Alix Perez, Paige Julia, & EBB, VUDU will be digging through the archives & joining forces with the crew at Norman foreman to release a 60 minute mash up of rhythm & subwaves, ranging from 140-160 beats per minute. Expect variations of Dubstep & Halftime, seasoned with the odd breakbeat.

ACP MX:12 is presented by a Te-Whanganui-a-Tara staple, under a slightly less common alias. 

/ˈsɑːwɪn, ˈsaʊɪn/, Irish: [ˈsˠəunʲ], Scottish Gaelic: [ˈs̪ãũ.ɪɲ]; Manx: Sauin [ˈsoːɪnʲ]
Meaning ‘Summers End’ Sauin celebrates the thinning of the veil between realms, the liminal space between the living and the world-unknown. Ritualistic, dreamlike, hazy. This mix is an intersection of ambience and dub. Like warm rain on fresh earth. 
Sauin has been making sounds come out of speakers for a long time but picked up mixing properly  in 2020 and digital production in 2022. Under their other moniker Birkenthot they have played all over Te-Whanganui-a-Tara, in Otautahi and at Twisted Frequency. As part of Pōneke soundsystem crew, Third Eye Hi-Fi, they have been involved in putting on numerous gigs around the motu, helped host several slots for Homebass on Radioactive, and have been an avid part of the electronic music scene in Pōneke for many years. 
They launched Sauin at Twisted Frequency 2022-23 to explore a more gentle, introspective sound in line with the kinds of tunes they have been creating.

Highlander - Subtle Radio - 20/05/2023

When we think of the hybrid sounds of jungle, footwork, drum and bass, and hip-hop, the first place that comes to mind isn't necessarily Ireland. However, some of our favorite recent releases in this realm have come from the Emerald Isle, via one of the most exciting labels in the bass music game; Rua Sound, and we're starting to think maybe we should be paying more attention to the Irish. They simply don't miss, and with a label roster sporting legends like TMSV, Sully, Sam Binga, Lewis James, and more, they have the talent to back it up. 

Today's premiere is from the RUA008 "The General" release from London's Touchy Subject. He's been somewhat quiet over the past year, after a couple big releases including a very well-received EP on Fracture's Astrophonica as well as a freshman release on Rua Sound. We're excited to hear him back with another EP on Rua, and we're proud to present the latest single from the release, "Seek and Find." It's a huge ragga-influenced jungley 170bpm dubwise stomper, so make sure you play this one on a big system. Enjoy, and make sure you follow Touchy Subject and Rua Sound!
