My debut EP, ‘SOFIA’, is a combination of the sounds that define my life - soul, r&b, and jazz. Throughout the record, you can hear footprints of both D’Angelo and Amy Winehouse, my two greatest influences in terms of singing and songwriting. My voice is complemented by the use of intricate live instrumentation, a key element in elevating the stories I tell. Many of these songs were written and produced by me, however, I was grateful to collaborate with several other musicians and songwriters including musicians from Katalyst Collective, Gene Noble, and Sherren Olivia, as well as working with my creative director, Sahar Habibi from Soulection.

This project is deeply personal as it explores my journey through self-love and sexuality and the growth that has accompanied it. I open myself up to romance and feel both the triumph and pitfalls that come with allowing someone into your heart. ‘SOFIA’ is a deep dive into my past, present, and future, one that not only introduces me as an artist, but has allowed me to show my most true and vulnerable self.

This is a song that describes the type of love I want and desire from my future lover. However, just as much as this song is about me and another person, it’s equally about my relationship with myself, because I truly admire who I am and who I'm becoming. I've been practicing self love for a long time and because of the confidence I have with who I am, I now feel ready to share that with a partner. I want my lover to be inspired by the love I give myself so they can meet me on that same level. I desire a love that is passionate, one that won’t be interrupted by any outside influences. The lyrics convey the confidence I have as a woman, with my body, and with my sexuality. The vocals are intimate and luscious, and the music is soulful, jazzy, and moody, but produced in a way to make it modern r&b.
