'Inside the Mosaic' has no one meaning. Rather, the music has the potential to prompt a collection of different ideas and emotions. The piece invites the listener to journey into a playful world of colour and texture. The musical fragments that move across the ensemble fit together perfectly - just like a mosaic. There is a sense of how strange it would be to be inside a mosaic, and at the same time a sense of wonder at being inside this fragmented world.

Gabi Cadenhead is a poet and composer living on unceded Gadigal and Wangal land. Their creative practice is one of intersections – between story and sound; between performance and protest; between queer bodies, feminism and the sacred. They hold a Bachelor of Music Studies (Composition) and Bachelor of Arts (English and Studies in Religion) from Sydney Conservatorium of Music and the University of Sydney.
