Here's a dark ambient song I'm working on. It's filled with lots of creepy guitar effects, tuvan throat singing, and processed samples of ocean waves. I'm planning on ratcheting up the intensity over several minutes, to create the feel of a chase scene in a horror film, while keeping some of these drones in the background. What does this music make you think of?

Dynamo Ep3 begins in the middle of the action, as Sterling relays to his boss that Axle Rubix is alive and well. Right away, I needed to convey a sense of motion: Sterling is speeding across the desert, and the plot is moving forward. Ian Hubert and I agreed that a driving bassline would work really well for that.

On top of that, I brought back a bunch of the instruments from Sterling's last scene in Ep1 to help tie the two together a bit more, so the whole thing also takes on some dark and ominous undertones.

I'll Be Taking The Train Home

Soren Laulainen started composing film scores when he was in high school. His music varies in style and genre, borrowing influences from ambient electronica, symphonic orchestra, post-rock and trip-hop. The results are strikingly emotive and cinematic in tone; music that creates its own imagery.
