On Halloween of 2018, Tony G emerged from a vat of acid and burst onto the Brooklyn techno scene with his debut record, “ACID TONY”. Two years and many tabs later, we revisit this pivotal Sorry Records Release with an updated mix from Acid Tony himself and a score of remixes by some friends we’ve met along the way.

1700, Italy: The piano, an acoustic instrument in which strings are struck by wooden hammers that are coated with a softer material, is invented by Bartoloeo Cristofori in Florence, Italy

1904, Italy: Benedetto Giambrone leaves Sicily onboard a boat headed for The New World.

1973, New York: Billy Joel’s first North American single, “Piano Man”, is released. It peaks at #25 on the U.S. Billboard Chart and is a moderate hit for Joel.

1977, Chicago: The Warehouse nightclub opens in a former factory. Its musical director, Frankie Knuckles, develops a DJing style that will go on to be called "House Music."

1993, Rochester: Benedetto’s great grandson Tony is born at Strong Memorial Hospital to Deborah and Joseph Giambrone.

1997, Hollywood: Gus Van Sant’s film “Good Will Hunting” is given a limited theatrical release. It earns widespread critical acclaim and goes on to gross $225,933,435 worldwide.

2018, Los Angeles: “Electricity,” British pop star Dua Lipa’s collaboration with Diplo and Mark Ronson is released by Columbia Records. It debuts at Number 15 on the UK Singles chart.

2021, New York: Sorry Records releases Tony G’s “Pianoman EP,” with remixes from Bored Lord and DJ Delish.
