Mat Zo is one of Anjunabeats’ most celebrated artists, with tracks such as 'Easy' (with Porter Robinson), 'Rebound' (with ARTY), 'The Sky' and 'Superman' capturing the imagination of the masses. His GRAMMY-nominated debut album, ‘Damage Control’, released in 2013, gave Mat’s avant-garde approach to production its full expression. Featuring break-out hit ‘Easy’, the track took Mat mainstream: a Radio 1 A-List addition, Sirius XM BPM listing, a #1 Billboard Heatseeking record, an Essential Mix of the year nomination and, ultimately, a GRAMMY nomination for best dance and electronic recording. 

His latest studio album, ‘Illusion of Depth’, was released on the label in October 2020. The album produced singles 'The Next Chapter', 'Problems' and 'Colours'; the latter of which has garnered over eight million streams, 150k YouTube views, hundreds of national radio play-outs and was placed in the soundtrack for the 2021 racing video game Forza Horizon 5.

2022 has been a productive year for Mat. Riding the 'Illusion of Depth' wave, Mat collaborated with Above & Beyond on the warehouse techno-infused single 'Always Do', released in March. Remarkably, 'Always Do' was the first time the two acts had officially collaborated. However, they have creatively crossed paths: a decade prior, Mat remixed A&B and Richard Bedford’s ‘Thing Called Love’.

A formidable live performer, Mat joined us at our label showcases in London, Miami and New York, plus Above & Beyond's Group Therapy Weekender festivals at The Gorge Amphitheatre and Dockyards London. A busy summer of touring culminated in a frenzied performance at A&B's sold-out Group Therapy 500 celebrations at Banc of California Stadium, Los Angeles.

In a surprise end-of-year treat for fans, Mat has returned with his first solo production on Anjunabeats in over two years. 'Astatine' is another explosive addition to his catalogue, ahead of more new music arriving on the label in 2023.

"Astatine came about while experimenting with bass sounds. What ended up happening was the whole meat of the track came from one synth patch at a time. The bass, harmonics and lead sounds all come from the same MIDI note playing through one instance of my favourite soft synth." - Mat Zo

This innovative duo have sculpted a unique sound of their own, and made a home with the Sotto Voce family.
