Soubrette is an opera singer's revolt.

After studying opera at Bard College and elite training programs, she toured internationally as a soloist with the acclaimed baroque group Ensemble Caprice.

But she needed more. 

A gifted pianist and writer since childhood, she started composing songs again, influenced by a study of experimental poetics and spiritual esoterica while at Bard. She taught herself electronic production and began self-recording. 

Her music has become an intuitive merge of operatic material, spiritual literature, spells, chant, accidents, improvisation, and sensual pop.

She revolted for creative freedom, but opera whet her appetite for power, historical continuity, and interdisciplinary art. 

Once during an opera coaching, a pianist said her aura was like a scythe hacking through the wilderness, but Soubrette's music is equally an exposed recess, draped inconsequentially over the brambles and being fed red grapes.
