An artist of versatility and skill, Viken considers music to be foremost a mirror of his emotions, not limiting himself to a single musical universe. Since he was young, he’s explored all various types of musical styles which he’s merged, and composes based solely off his mood. His mastery of the piano, and an attained degree at music school, has supplied him with a formal background in musical culture, and an undeniable ease which has enabled him to develop artistic creations ranging from Jazz through music for films, classical works, up until electronic music which he’s been experimenting with for the past 13 years.

For this first release, Viken offers two pieces which borderline between minimal, electronica and deep house. Supported by the maintenance for a constant harmony, the rhythm throughout 'Nostalgie' and 'Addiction' is embellished with refined and magnificently crafted beats. When most come to a halt entering that which is unexplored and uncertain, Viken succeeds with brilliance : marrying coherence and traditional melodic charm, not to mention "symphonies" of clearly electronic-oriented beats composed from original and unique sounds. The influence of the ‘Greats’ in regards to contemporary music at a broad sense can easily be deciphered when listening to Viken’s work : names like Erik Satie and Acid Pauli come first to mind.

Berlin producer Nico Stojan, pillar to bar 25 and Germany’s deep/tech-house scene, took on his own spin to the title Addiction. What emerges is a dynamite version with immaculate percussions enhanced by a nonchalant bass.

The other title of the EP, ‘Nostalgie’ is remixed by another producer across the Rhine, Paul Chriske, aka Powel. Both ascending from Berlin’s deep-house scene, Paul has everything to become legendary : a signature sound recognizable amongst 100s, an experienced drummer, etc. From the remix emerges a complete reconfiguration of the track, centralized around the use of the piano. Powel totally reworks the bass, an atypical speciality done by the use of his ‘paw’, the captivating atmosphere he scatters throughout the track via sounds deriving straight from the depths of Berlin.

The love of house music runs deep through the Steyoyoke family and this latest release is not shy to show it. Taking some of the labels shining stars from the past year, Steyoyoke artists have been given the chance to remix their fellow family members tracks. Family Affair 01 is a salute to the unity shown within the label and proves that there is still so much love to give from Steyoyoke.

Starting things off is Bartok’s remix of Dahu’s dark and enigmatic ‘Deep In The Woods’ anthem. Bartok holds onto some of the mystery, though he twists and turns through the woods to conjure up an all the more driven step and finds itself coming to a clearing.

Bartok’s ‘Cherries’ was a provocative and alluring house anthem that left you wanting more and to remix such a gem would take a brave soul, step up Soul Button. Keeping still the signature vocals, Soul Button lifts Cherries higher with rushing synth chords falling into the beat.

Sasch puts a strong hand to I’m Fine and Antonio Olivieri’s summer anthem - ‘If I Were Music’. Rising from the dark, Sasch comes out fighting with a persistent groove that keeps going until you’ve had enough.

The young dj and producer Dahu gives his take on Antonio Olivieri’s ‘Rudiments’ with an uplifting remix of the original foot stomper. Rich with soul and raw with emotion, Dahu tantalizes with unique and surprising synths and sounds.

‘Marian’ by Sasch was a track that found itself lifting the hearts of many patrons to the dancefloor. Antonio Olivieri’s remix delivers with an engaging beat and a teasing spanish guitar sample that lifts you high beyond the clouds.

Steyoyoke’s newest family member Florian Rietze is given the task of remixing I'm Fine and Antonio Olivieri’s - ‘Your Ghost’. Florian shows no sign of being the youngest within the family with what is a very mature remix. Seductively dark, but still tender and gentle.

Closing the curtain on this first Family Affair is MPathy with a weighty punch behind Soul Button’s classic - ‘Shadows’. Filled to the brim with energy and heart, MPathy highlights the passion and evermore giving challenge of delivering only the finest house music.

Based in Berlin but originally from Italy, Soul Button has undoubtedly made a distinctive mark on the Melodic Techno scene, starting his personal project in 2012 along with the launch of his label and brand, Steyoyoke Recordings. As the inventor and trademark owner of the Ethereal Techno subgenre, his artist name, Soul Button, reflects a strong conceptual identity.

Soul Button transformed his label into a real brand, first establishing the two sub-labels Steyoyoke Black and Inner Symphony, and later developing his own clothing brand, SYYK Berlin, as well as his own publishing company, SYYK Publishing. Well known in the electronic music scene as one of the most skilled DJs and producers, for his mental and soulful sets and tracks, Soul Button has affirmed his international exposure.

His career took off with many successful singles like "Swift Minds" and "Wraith", the latter featuring acclaimed American vocalist Terry Grant. Tracks like "Reverie" and "Metamorphosis" were a great anticipation of his first album, released in December 2019, "Phantom Existence", a 13-original track album that marked a significant moment in his career, followed by a remix edition in April 2020.

Recent years have seen continued success with the release of the "Pantheon" EP alongside Monarke, and singles such as "God Save The Rave", "Crescendo", "Merine", "Infinitude", and "Dalliance", capturing the attention of techno enthusiasts worldwide. His latest work includes "Walking Straight Up", a single that highlights his ascent in 2023, together with the collection, "Dual Realms of Sound", which was a testament to Soul Button's evolving sound and his ability to capture the duality of rhythm and melody, further solidifying his place in the techno realm. 2024 sees his second official album "Master Minds", which will be launched in April 2024, with preceding singles "Lumina" and "Tartribe".

Having cemented himself firmly in the scene, Soul Button maintains focus on the continuous growth and development of his labels as well as his own personal career. The upcoming years will surely be busy with new tours and projects on the horizon.
