After five years of planning, writing, and refining their sound, London-based production duo Kolectiv are set to release their long-awaited debut drum & bass album, Circadian Rhythms.

The project began in the aftermath of the pandemic, when the pair started setting aside tracks that captured the spirit of a night out at a drum & bass event. Their vision was clear: to create an album that reflects the variety, energy, and progression of a rave – from the first beats that pull you into the closing sounds that carry you home.

“Going out to drum & bass nights, you’d hear so many different flavours across six or seven hours. We wanted the album to follow that same arc – like a circadian rhythm, a natural flow of time, but in this case the cycle of a rave,” Kolectiv explain.

To achieve this, the duo placed a strong emphasis on originality and sound design. Most of the album was built from scratch using their own recorded samples, crafted through sessions with keys, drums, and guitars, and only dipping into external sources when absolutely necessary. Vocal collaborations from PAV4N, Hijak MC, Illmatika and Kerry Donnelly add unique flavour to the project, while carefully placed interludes tie the project together as a complete listening experience.

“This isn’t just a collection of tracks. We wanted it to be a journey – a cradle-to-grave kind of experience – with highs, lows, and moments to breathe.”

The title Circadian Rhythms captures that intention perfectly: an audio diary of a night spent immersed in drum & bass culture, told through Kolectiv’s trademark blend of technical precision and emotional depth.

The project also coincided with a complete studio overhaul, giving Kolectiv a fresh environment to finalize and mix down the record with a renewed sense of clarity and focus.

With Circadian Rhythms, Kolectiv deliver more than an album – they present a story, an atmosphere, and a tribute to the music and culture that shaped them.

This EP is the result of a long-standing creative exchange between ArpXP and Was A Be – a process that unfolded over the years in a spontaneous, unstructured way, capturing the spirit of the moment rather than following a rigid plan.

These tracks are not the pair’s first collaborations; the two artists have been close friends for many years. Each piece was born in different circumstances and under different inspirations, but they evolved gradually, reshaped and fine-tuned through countless tests on the dancefloor.

ArpXP is among the first Italian DJs and producers to break into the international drum & bass circuit. Since the early 2000s, first with his project S.M.O.K.E. and later as a solo artist, he has released on iconic imprints such as Metalheadz and many more. He is also one of the driving forces behind the renowned SUNANDBASS Festival, where he curates the label SUNANDBASS Recordings.

Was A Be, meanwhile, has established himself as one of the most influential figures in the Italian scene. Known for his eclectic and boundary-pushing style, he has released music on some of the most respected labels in the game, including Subtitles, Critical, Shogun, Gutterfunk and Neosignal.

Shinobi Returns to Architecture Recordings with an uplifting Three-Track EP, ‘Finding Light’

London, UK Renowned drum & bass producer Shinobi makes a powerful return to Architecture Recordings with his new EP, Finding Light , the three-track project serves as a testament to the producer's signature sound, blending intricate production with soaring, atmospheric melodies.

The EP is a journey of introspection and ascent, opening with the soulful vocals and shimmering pads of ‘Love Is Calling’. The title track, ‘Finding Light’, builds with a driving, energetic breakbeat that crescendos into a luminous, euphoric drop, perfectly capturing the essence of its name. The journey culminates with ‘Liberation’, a powerful and expansive finale that combines robust basslines with ethereal synth work, offering a profound sense of release and clarity.

Omni Music welcomes the return of Fishy to the label with 4 deep cuts of floating atmospherics. The title track starts the EP with an epic intro before the beats drop in with delicate piano drops and speaker shaking bass. Fractured Calm is up next with a gentle intro that belies the thundering breaks and beguiling bass to follow, sounds for both the dancefloor and listening at home. Misty Scenery starts with beautiful soft pads as birds chirp across a landscape of meadows before we're taken on an amen-infused journey through mystical landscapes. The EP ends with Unknown Territory, a darker absorbing foray into nervous territory as hypnotic bass and dystopian synths envelope the listener. This is a great return to the label for Fishy, and we hope to see him return again soon.

Hailing from New York City, I-CUE brings his signature sound to Soul Deep on the new "Loving the Sound EP".  I-CUE has an extensive background in producing and deejaying Hip-Hop, and it definitely has influenced his Drum &amp; Bass productions.  "Banco", kicks things off in a laid back, soulful fashion.  The song features, soulful piano samples, punchy drums, sexy strings, and a deep bassline that dances below the melody.  "Starship", is up next and features rolling drums, a stepping bassline, filtered keyboard samples, funky bass samples, wailing vocals, and lush piano samples.  Up next is the outstanding vocal tune, featuring the talented T.R.A.C. &amp; Cee Blak.  T.R.A.C. blesses the song with perfect hip-hop verses, while Cee Blak comes clean with the epic chorus embellishments.  Underneath the vocalists is a rolling track, featuring classic drum samples, a bouncy bassline, perfectly placed keys, and smooth strings.  MC Astro's immaculate vocals are featured on the next track, "The Sound".  The song kicks off with some lovely horn samples layered with a whirling synth loop.  Astro's vocals drop and transform the track to a head nodding journey into his thoughts about the love of music.  The bassline kicks in underneath the vocals and brings the track to the next level.  Overall, I-CUE has produced a breakthrough EP, fusing Hip-Hop and Drum &amp; Bass with seamless production.  Essential!!
