Transporting us to vibrant new depths in the ever-expanding world of psychedelic music, Shanti Planti’s mind-bending “Rhythm Code III” is a chimerical and mesmerizing exploration of dream, memory and the influence of sensation upon the mind. Conceived by an artist collective united across the globe by its hallucinatory and hypnotic approach to high-tech sound design, this curated compilation album draws upon primitive roots to create an intoxicating blend of sounds that refuses to be contained to a single genre. 

From start to finish, listeners are guided across the sonic sphere in an sensory dive into spacious downtempo, organic dub and rhythmic glitch juxtaposed with a beat-rich array of menacing bass, mid-tempo dub and swanky psychedelic funk.

Bursting onto the scene with an appetite for the psychedelic, Alien Speak is the stellar first release from Sylph, the musical alias of Emily Thaler. Based out of New York City, she has spent the last several years quietly expanding upon her production, composition, and engineering knowledge. The producer’s patience has paid off with a musical bounty worth it's weight in sub bass. Drawing from the font of psybient influence, each of the four tracks is a boisterous dance of pulsating frequencies. Glitchy harmonies and high-processed synthesis turn each moment into a downtempo tango between the visceral and the effervescent. With an obvious inclination towards arrangement and general musicality, the EP is a testament to an intrepid work ethic. A “Tipping point” is the point at which a series of small changes or incidents becomes significant enough to cause a larger, more important change.

This sombre body of music was named and conceptualised in 2019. Written in both 2019 and the start of 2020, prior to the period we have all endured.

It has surely been a global human drama of enormous scale. This included a massive de-acceleration. A moment shared together, yet apart.

What a unique moment for our animal kin to breathe and our skys to clear to expose the smog shrouded mountains that have been hidden for decades in our consumption.

What a strange year of human existence! I hope you have found the inspiration in that space for positive growth..

There were no changes in 2020 that were small. But inside those walls and inside my being, there was certainly many small changes and a tipping point is well and truly in action.

How will it play out in the world?

We sit on the cusp of some old or new trajectories.
