This piece symbolizes the evolution of the contemporary spirit towards the enlightenment experience and its activation in the "real world" through its progression of textures...

Beginning in from the universal sound source of the Om, this piece moves from the mechanical and sensual essence of modern life and society through the ebb and flow of becoming more and more aware of both the intense love and suffering of this world (represented by the movement of the strings) into an infinite space within, full of darkness but pulsing with beams of photons bringing one beyond space and time to the eternal sound of Om...

...awakening into an intricate hyperspace of Satori, we travel through the nexus of the Void upon the wings of a flute to find the realization that there is no realization and that It is beyond all things for: all is and all is not...

Floating back through inner/outer space and reawakening into this realm of Samsara and cyclical existence, the lessons of the Infinite are at first forgotten but then remembered again, creating a complete Self that is represented through the harmonic alignment of the strings and the flute, respectively symbolizing fear and love, darkness and light, the human experience and the buddha, the finite and the infinite...

Quixotic has collaborated with Drrtywulvz on his original track Distant Pyramids, and also remixed it for their live performances. Today they are giving away the remix ahead of their upcoming new Quixotic EP being released in September, featuring more original music along with remixes of Distant Pyramids by Michal Menert, Nominus, Space Jesus, and David Starfire. The new as yet unnamed EP will be engineered by none other than Ron Lorman, known for his work with Frank Zappa and Miles Davis in the 70’s and 80’s. This remix blends vibrant strings with driving drums and psychedelic sound bites giving this track an other-worldly feel.

The third instalment of the Bodybuilder Quartet has arrived, and once again label boss Nachtbraker adds an exciting name to the Quartet Series manifesto.

Moscow native Kuzma Palkin previously released a double 10” and a double 12” on quality Russian imprint Gost Zvuk, but is also known for his productions under his Audiocad (Between Us) and Kausto (Shanti Records) noms de guerre. Make sure to check those out if you haven’t already. Here, Kuzma serves up an EP as deep as they come, with greasy, industrial and glitchy sounds floating on steady beats. Title tune “Macho Culture” is a peaktime roller for darker club spaces with its deep melodic stabs, slapping snares and a haunting synth. Also on the A is “Muscle Mass Increase”, which is cut from the same haunting cloth but comes with an edgy saw synth that will have the punters reach for the lazers.
Flip over for “Proper Sauna Chill”, which comes with a thumping kick, beautifully crafted sound design details and an undeniable groove. Closing Kuzma’s Quartet Series debut EP is “Krepkiye Bitsepsky”, another showcase of amazing sound design and warped stabs floating over a steady break beat and groovy bass line to round things off nicely.
