Doctor Flake live Dj set, enregistré le 17 juin 2023 sur l'alpage du Danay à La Clusaz pour l'évènement "Le Champ des Platines".

"Quel plaisir de pouvoir partager ce set dont l’enregistrement avait peut-être été menacé par une coupure d’électricité ! 
Je connaissais la vallée des Confins et la vallée du Bouchet mais n’étais jamais monté entre les deux, en terre bornandine, sur l’alpage du Danay. Un nouveau panorama s'inscrit alors au palmarès des panoramas. Contemplatif à souhait, ce fut le sunset spot ultime de l’été depuis le booth perché quasiment au sommet de l’alpage. Magique. 
Il y a des dates qui vous laissent des souvenirs intacts et impérissables, celle-ci en fait partie. Entre le lieu, la réceptivité crescendo du public, le regain d’énergie avec les soucis techniques, la bienveillance et le professionnalisme de l’organisation, tous les ingrédients étaient réunis pour un moment de communion et de partage sonore de haut vol où chaque morceau joué pouvait être le dernier.
La plupart des titres du set seront identifiés par Shazam alors si vous aimez, surtout n’hésitez pas à les rechercher et à les partager autour de vous. C’est dans cet esprit de partage et de transmission que s’est construit Radiomeuh et c’est dans ce même esprit qu’elle perdurera :)

1) Tell us a bit about yourself and your record collection

SoulBrigada was initiated 2009 by Alex D. & Fabio V. as a platform for own events in the trijunction on the lake of constance in the south of germany. Alex also started to spin records on this events and abroad. In 2011 the first studio collaboration leads to an exclusive vinyl only release with their remix of a track by Gilles Peterson's Havana Cultura Band on Poets Club Records.
Due to time time constraints and spatial distance Fabio had to withdraw from this project a little bit so that Alex runs nowadays SoulBrigada mainly. Further tracks was released in 2013 on 7inch on english label KAT45 Records and the own 2016-founded Matasuna Records. The focus is now on the label work and spreading the Matasuna vibe on festivals and clubs across europe.
The record collection is approx. 1500 records – one third 7inches and two third 10“ and 12“. I collect a broad range of different records from all over the world. I also like to buy records on my vacations like in Japan, California, Greece, Portugal etc. So for me my collection is more than only music – it's also a memory to special moments of my life. Most of the time when i put out a vinyl from the collection these memories came back to mind.

2) 45/7 is all about celebrating the 7". Can you tell us a bit about what you love about the format.

It's more challenging to play with 7inches: on one hand the mixing of the tracks because there's no long in- or outros like on an extended 12“ Disco Single. On the other hand you have to be focused a lot on the mix because of the short play time of the 7“. But i like this kind of challange.
And also the size and weight of the record bag is optimal for trips abroad.

3) One hour of vinyl goodness... can you talk us through your selection for your 45/7 mix?

I was influenced by Djs & Diggers like Paul Nice, Mr. Scruff, Kenny Dope or DJ Muro which couldn't be categorized in a specific genre and suprised again and again with their musical taste. It would be a loss to be restricted to a certain genre because there's so incredible good music out there. This is also the philosophy of SoulBrigada: as the name associates, Soulmusic is obligatory but there isn't a limit to this genre – the main point is the SOUL in the music.
So this exclusive 7inch vinyl only mix reflects excellent the musical bandwith of the SoulBrigada sound. It's ranging from Reggae, Calypso, Brazil, Tropical, Orienta l, Asia over to Funk, Breaks, Boogie towards Dubby Disco.

Diggin' in Trinidad & Tobago -  A tribute to Calypso Rose by GUTS

SoulBrigada was founded in 2009 by the german artists & musicians Alex D. and Fabio V. With this project they want to pull down stereotyped thinking and musical barriers and present a wide range of various music. As the name SoulBrigada associates Soulmusic is obligatory for them but they’re not limited to this genre – the main point is the SOUL in the music. Moving between Beats & Breaks, Global Grooves, Electronica, Disco & Rare Groove, the listener can always expect an exciting and versatile trip.

Over the years, they have been involved in many projects - regular club nights in Germany & Austria with illustrious international guest DJs, their own monthly radio show on the Swiss-based radio station GDS.FM or the organization of national record fairs in Germany and Austria. 

Numerous DJ sets on festivals, clubs & radio stations take them across Europe to spread that SoulBrigada vision: from Portugal, France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Austria to Croatia, Bulgaria & Greece. 

This passion has also led to music production, which has accumulated a considerable number of releases over the years. It all started in 2011 when their first production, a remix of a song by the 'Gilles Peterson Havana Cultura Band' was officially released on a limited & exclusive vinyl EP. Further releases followed on KAT45, Matasuna Records, Légère Recordings, Resense and Samosa Records. More releases will see the light of day in the near future.

In summer 2016 the own label Matasuna Records was launched, which is specialized in reissuing rare music from all over the world, but also doesn't disregard great contemporary music. The label has built up an excellent reputation among music connoisseurs over the years, so that many of the vinyl releases are already sold out.
